A Very Special Birthday (One-shot)

Sister of the Crimson Dragon: Yo! New pen-name, I know. Same author as The Dueling Dutchess, though! This is my second Fruits Basket FanFiction and first story that's kinda', umm, "poetry"? I'm not a good poet, so sorry. This is a one-shot poem with the pairing, Hatori and Kana. Remember that scene in the anime where Hatori opens his binder and sees a present, which was obviously from Kana? What was in it? This is in honour of my BFF's birthday. There's also my version of Har'i's flashback, opening the present and seeing what's inside it.

Please R&R! My first "poem" and one-shot!

Disclaimer: I do not own Fruits Basket, 'cos if I did, Hatori's past probably would be less painful and Akito would be a male, squat! Even in the manga.

Hatori's P.O.V (during episode 8, Hatori's past with Kana):

I went and sat at my desk. Kana, my assistant, was there already working. Strikes me odd, as I was always the "early bird". Sitting at my desk with my white binder, I got everything ready for work. Opening my binder, I see a yellow box with a red ribbon attached to it. Surprised, I looked at Kana, who was hiding her head with her binder. I smiled a bit and chuckled.

"Thank you, Kana." I murmured.

Opening the box, I found $100, some small doctor supplies and an envelope. Curious, I opened it to find a beautiful card. I read the card and this is what it said:

{Poem}

A Very Special Birthday

On this special day,
go to the place
where your dreams lay

Take a break!
Just smile,
for goodness' sake!

Believe you can fly!
Believe you touch the sky!

Now this is the end,
To finish it off,
all I had to do
was send

Happy Birthday!

Love, Kana

'Oh, yeah!' I thought to myself. 'It's my birthday today.'

Seeing as I never really had "caring" parents, I never really celebrated my birthday. I was quite happy.

'Wait, LOVE?!' I thought, in shock. I re-read the card. 'She LOVES me?! What will Akito think?!'

Thinking on what some of the other Zodiac members said, about taking risks, especially Shigure, I decided to do that. People are saying I worry too much. If Kana likes me, why break a bond?

Maybe I do worry too much.

Sister of the Crimson Dragon: Well, that's done! The poem is the same, except I put "From your BFF" instead of "Love, Kana". Hope you enjoyed it and please review! Wuv you, girlfriend! (no homo) Please R&R!
