Twasthenight Author's note~ Okay I know it's a little early, but hey, it was only five weeks away on Monday. This is my Christmas poem based on 'T'was the night before christmas' But I don't know who it was by. It is one Christmas at Balamb Garden, from Squall's perspective and he trying to something nice....

T'was the night before Christmas
And all through the dorm
SeeDs were snoring
All safe and warm.

All were commanded
To take to their beds
Now dreams of great battles
Danced in their heads

Out in the halls
No soul was walking
Except Quisty and Zell
Who'd stayed up late talking

Alone in my room
I had been pacing
Aware of the size
Of the task I was facing

Rinoa just laughed
Her eyes all a glitter
She said to give up
But I'm not a quitter

I had to deliver
These parcels with care
To make Balamb think
Santa'd been there

I donned the black boots
And the big belly
Which Zell assured me
Was not made of jelly

I nearly decided
That fate was too cruel
To make me go out there
And act like a fool

But every new student
Was counting on me
So I grabbed all the presents
Under the tree.

Of course I fell over
And made such a clatter
That most of my friends
Saw what was the matter

Then in a flash
Irvine appeared
Being funny and asking
Where were my reindeer?

I thumped him hard
And I thumped him quick
Over the head
With a candy stick

Our friends quickly put
A stop to the fight
And then they said
We'd all do the job right

We got all the presents
Into a sleigh
Christmas is easy
If done this way

Now for a driver
Moody but quick
Of course it was me
You knew it wasn't saint Nick

'On Tonberry, now Ifrit
Now Brothers and Cactuar
On Doomtrain, on Siren
On Bahumat and Shiva.'

Up to the ring
Of garden they flew
With the sleigh and the toys
And yours truly too.

We quickly did reach
The window of a dorm
Where the kids you remember
Were all safe and warm.
(Okay I used this rhyme before but the only other word I could think of was corn)

All of my students
Were snug in their places
And the youngest of all
Had smiles on their faces

In one stocking a doll
In another a Teddy
It was done so quickly
And soon I was ready

But I got stuck in the window
And boy did I wail
And woke up the children
Of course without fail.

And what to their wondering eyes
Should appear
But a big bellied Santa
With a cute little rear

My act was was great
My clothes were fantastic
But they knew I was fake
They spotted beard elastic

My presents delivered
I jumped down out of sight
But I knew they could hear me
Out in the night.

And this is all
I believe that I said
'Merry Christmas to all,
And go to BED!'

Okay that's it, and don't moan that it was too early, you were warned *wink* Anyway I only did it cause we started putting decorations up round our house, the longer christmas lasts the longer you have to party right?
