Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter *pouts in the corner "It all belongs Rowling"*
"Ladies and gentlemen, let the quidditch season... BEGIN!" Lee Jordan's voice rang out through the quidditch arena, wrapping around the corner, through the crack under the door, up to Harry's ear. He'd helped the ministry capture the remaining death eaters before realizing he missed the quidditch pitch. What made him realize this? Going to his long-time girlfriend's games. Ginny was great, she was one of the main reasons he waited so long to tryout. He didn't want to play against her. After weeks of Ginny assuring him she was fine with it, he tried out for Puddlemere United just after the end of their season. He'd been practicing during the off season as a reserve, but he proved to be far better than the old seeker. It was time for him to retire anyways. After Harry took over, he admitted that he'd been hoping for someone new so he relax and start a family.
So now, here Harry was. Listening to his old coach Oliver Wood give him a similar pep talk as first year. However, Harry didn't hear a word. Saying he was nervous was an understatement. His first game was against none other than the Holyhead Harpies. He knew that if he won, his hot-headed girlfriend would be in a slump for a day or two. However, she always was when they lost.
Suddenly, Jordan's voice rang out. "Don't let their size underestimate you, this team packs a punch, I would know, I'm dating one of the beaters , the Holyhead Harpies! with ———,———,———,———,———, and their MVP, Weasley. Harry only had ears for Ginny. Just hearing her name brought a smile to his face. However, Oliver saw it and as they prepared to fly out he leaned over to Harry. "Keep your head in the game, don't let your emotions play into the game." Harry knew that, but he nodded to Oliver anyway. He probably needed that reminder. Jordan announced Puddlemere. As Harry flew out, he caught Ginny's glance but quickly looking away when she winked. He should have known she'd try something like that. "This should be interesting folks, Weasley, a chaser for the Harpies is dating the seeker for Puddlemere, but I won't bore you with that, looks like the ref is ready to start. And the balls are let loose. Weasley gets the quaffle and starts to Wood. She feints and... scores! This girl is good!
Meanwhile, Harry was in heaven. He hadn't played a gam win years. As he circled the pitch, scanning for the snitch, he saw the other seeker do a slight dip. He turned, prepared to chase, when he saw her smirking. Two could play at that game. Five minutes later, the score was 60-90 Harpies. He decided this was the perfect time. He climes to double the height of the hoops. He took a minute to enjoy the view before tuning 90 degrees going straight down. The wind wove through his hair, and he loved it. He stretched himself against the broom to increase his speed. "It looks like Potter's seen the snitch!" He saw the Harpies' seeker chasing him. He shifted in front of her to block her view of the ground. Just feet front he ground, prepared to pull up, he saw the snitch for real. Just to the left. He quickly pulled up, feet grazing the grass. He zipped around the pitch following the snitch. He weaved through the left hoop and saw Oliver barely block another shot from Ginny.
The snitch was 5 feet off the ground, zipping at that height around the pitch. Harry was just inches when he decided to just go for it. He prepared himself and leaped off his broom tumbling onto the grass. "And Potter's got the snitch! Puddlemere wins 220-110!" Just before his team pummeled him, he saw Ginny storm into the locker room. It was going to be a tough night, but he loved her no matter how angry she got, that was one of his main reasons for loving her.
