The Yearly 365 Challenge

Prompt #120 (Item) Laptop

I have decided to write a on going series of FP/Hermione being together. Most of them you don't have to read in order … but the first two on the list should be read in order.

The series of stories that this truly belongs to:

The End Of The Affair

Picking Up Where We Left Off

Jughead silently sat down next to Veronica on her bed.

"Can I help you?" Veronica spoke in a uptight voice keeping her eyes glued on her laptop scene.

"Our parents truly do love one another." Jughead stated matter of factly. "I could tell that your mother truly was the love of my father's life the moment that I saw my father's eyes on your mother back when you two first came to Riverdale. Back to Riverdale in your mother's case."

Veronica tapped a few buttons. "I could tell the same with my mother." She allowed.

"We both know that they aren't going to allow the other to leave their lives ever again." Jughead leaned back on his elbows. He breathed in deeply. "So seeing how we are struck with one another from now to the end of time … I feel that we need to call a truce." He looked at her stiff back. "I never hated you Veronica."

Veronica shut the laptop lid. She turned to look at the lanky teen. "I know that." She spoke.

Jughead sighed. "I know you care deeply for Betty." His eyes never leaving hers. "As more than as a friend."

Veronica's eyes harden. Then softened. Then she just stared impassivly back at him.

"Don't hide yourself from me Ronnie. We are going to be step siblings." He sat back up. He sighed as he leaned his shoulder into hers. "I don't know if Betty and I will the ulitmate endgame." He breathed in. "Archie could wake up one day and realize that he does in fact love Betty as she has always loved him." He felt Veronica tighten up. "You need to understand Betty; Ronnie; she may have told herself that she has worked on realizing that her childhood crush on Archie was just that … a childhood crush. But her heart and soul is still tied up in Archie Andrews. That the second that Archie starts to return her feelings for him … then she'll drop whomever she is with to be with him."

"Then good thing that Betty is straight then." Veronica spoke.

Jughead smirked. "She's not as straight as she thinks she is."

"Wipe that smirk off." Veronica growled.

Jughead grew serious again. "If Archie does return Betty's feelings then I feel that Betty is headed for heartache. That she'll be destroyed in the end." He sighed. "That's why I'm praying against all hope that Archie will never return her feelings for him. That he keeps seeing Betty as his true child best friend … his sister. Not a possible lover."

"Then she'll be free to marry you and be happy." Veronica nodded her head. Her eyes slanted. "Don't worry I'll keep Archie very happy between the sheets."

Jughead laid a hand on her tight shoulder. "That's not what I want from you Ronnie."

Veronica stood to her feet. "You need to leave my bedroom right now Jughead."

"I want you to have a happy ever after ending in life also Veronica." Jughead looked up into her stormy eyes.

"No you don't." Veronica spat as she turned and walked from the bedroom.

"Yes I do." Jughead husked out. Even if I have to lose out in the end. He looked over at Veronica's dressing table and found a frame picture of Betty and Veronica. They were wrapped up in each other as Betty rested her head against Veronica's chest. They were staring into each other's eyes … and he couldn't deny the truth in what he saw in them.
