After
Alex Rider sat in front of Alan Blunt's desk, as per usual. Mrs. Jones sat to the side, as per usual. Blunt himself sat behind his desk, as per usual.
But the circumstances that brought the three together were far from usual.
"…have considered a number of possibilities," Blunt was saying. "And we have come to the conclusion that the most convenient and logical option would be for you to return to the SAS training camp you attended before your first mission."
Apart from a brief clenching of his fists and a slight narrowing of his eyes, Alex didn't react.
"You will remain there until you are of age and able to live by yourself. While you are there, you will train with your old unit. We will be pulling you out for missions that require your presence."
Alex looked like he was about to say something, but changed his mind and remained silent.
"That is all. You will return to your house to pack anything of personal value. Anything you do not take will be stored until you are of age. You will not be returning to the house."
A sad look came over Alex's features for a moment, but it slipped away like a passing shadow. Recognizing the dismissal, he stood up and left the room, leaving the two adults behind. As per usual.

Sorry for the shortness. I've already written quite a few chapters of this, but I skipped this one because it was so hard to write. Basically, it's just an introduction – a prologue, if you will.
I'm hoping that I'll be able to update this regularly, but don't hold your breath.
