"Dean!" She called out.
"Fuck!" He muttered.
"Dean! Damn it, wait up, you asshole!" She yelled.

I once had a heart
Inside of me
But I heard the devil speak
And he laughed at me
I once had a soul
But you made me weak
The devil told me
That is all you'll be

He turned around slowly to look at her. Clara. Beautiful, sweet, caring, loveable Clara. Everything he had ever dreamed about. Long, wavy, red hair. Soft brown eyes that looked worried in that moment.

I once had a heart
I had a chance
To be forgiven
By you my friend
Oh, I once had a soul
From where we came
But we are older now
Now who's to blame
Oh, I once had a soul

"You're really leaving?" She asked. "You told me it was a work. That is was just a storyline. That I shouldn't worry. And now you're fucking leaving. You're leaving me. Why?"

He had to numb himself. He had to become cold. She was already hurting. She didn't need more pain in her life, and that was all he could ever give her. Pain, hurt, a miserable life. Everything she didn't deserve.

"Look, Clara, this has nothing to do with you," he rolled his shoulders. "You and I had some fun, but the fun times are over and I gotta move on.
"Fun?" Her lip quavered. "That was all I ever was to you? Fun?"

I once had a friend
To hold my hand
When life was hard to live
We had a plan
Oh, time always change you
From what you are
Like things are supposed to
We've gone too far

She wasn't. She wasn't just some mindless fun to him. She was so much more. Something bigger, something higher, something he would love to have but that he chose to let go. For her own good, he told himself. For her own good because she didn't deserve a low life man like him.

"Yeah," he lied. "Fun."

Her soft brown eyes went from worried to haunted. His heart shattered in that moment. A single tear rolled down his cheek. He chose to ignore it as he kept staring at her. She could take it as she wanted. He was gonna continue lying no matter how many tears would fall.

"You god damn asshole," her voice was breaking. "I love you, Dean. I fucking love you like I've never loved anyone before. You're just gonna let me go? Don't you even care?"

Oh, gotta go back in time
Looking back I don't know what I'll find
I'm trying to understand why we're forgotten

He cared. More than he had ever cared about anyone before. That was exactly why he let her go.

"Not enough," he let out his final lie. "See you around, Clara."
"That's just it. You won't," she said. "Take me with you, Dean. Please. Don't leave me."

He flashed her one of his famous smiles. Dimples on full display. The smile that made most female fans weak. She didn't smile back. She just stared at him, waiting for him to answer. He didn't. He couldn't. He turned around without another word, leaving his heart with her.

I once had a heart
Inside of me
But I heard the devil speak
And he laughed at me
I once had a soul
