Chapter 1
"Melody…"she heard a gentle voice say, she couldn't see anything; everything was pitch black. "Melody… can you hear me? "The voice seemed familiar, but she couldn't place where. "She can't hear you Ambrose…neither could Jonathan." Ambrose…that name seemed familiar; his voiced kind and gentle. Then a scene unfolded before her; her vision no longer dark. She was standing in a dim, circular room with an old man standing over a desk spud with papers. He had a long white beard and wore spectacles, star covered robes, a pointed hat and staff. "Have you found anything Ambrose?" I turned to see a snowy white owl fly onto the man's staff. "Nothing yet my friend, go get Professor Falmea, she should see this." The owl nodded and flew away into another room, a minute later. He came back standing on the shoulder of a tall red haired woman, she wore a long red dress that looked like a flame, it even gave the impression it was with the way it curled up on the bottom. The odd part of her was that her hair stood up on its own and seemed to emit a slight glow in the dim room. "What is it Ambrose, is it something about the children?" The man nodded with a look of deep concern on his face. "It is indeed, they are both showing signs of their powers already, especially Melody, a little less from her brother, Jonathan." How does he know my name, I thought, and who the heck is Jonathan! "But their only 15, how can you be sure?" the man looked at her over his spectacles, "I know because the girl lit her clothes on fire and the boy froze a tree, their powers are growing rapidly, they need to learn how to control them." He face and voice was serious but softened when he saw her eyes tear up. "Dalia you know that, I know the deal you made of Alexandria and Sebastian but you have to accept that they have a far bigger role in this than you or I combined; they need a guiding hand, for their own protection…and the Spiral's." The woman looked at him with a deep sadness. After several minutes she finally spoke, "OK, when should we get them then?" "No need they will come to us" The woman look confused for a minute then a look of understanding crossed her face and she walked closer to him. "Where did you send them to before the attack?" The old man moved his hand over a crystal orb and a map appeared in the air above their heads; it looked like a map of the solar system, but with odd shapes floating where the planets should be. "There" he pointed to a circular shape, "The beings there think they are the only beings out there, the call this, the Solar System not the Spiral, and their world: Earth." The woman looked and moved in for a closer look. "Why there?" she looked back over to 'Ambrose' with a questioning, almost accusing, look. "They don't believe in magic, so he would never think to look there. So to put it simply, were hiding them in plain sight." the woman nodded in understanding, and walked back over to the man. She leaned over and whispered something in his hear I couldn't hear and he gripped her hand as if reassuring her. Then the scene began to fade away and everything went black.
