An Ode To Gilderoy L.
An Ode To Gilderoy L.
(From G. Lockhart)
by jenelin

Author's note: Harry Potter and all related characters came from the mind of J.K. Rowling, not me. That includes the speaker (and recipient) of this poem, Gilderoy Lockhart. Yes, a poem to Lockhart, from Lockhart. Something he put together in between answering all those fan letters. I thought he was a rhyme-y sort of person. I generally don't rhyme in my poems, but Gilderoy wanted this one to (although he couldn't quite manage all of it..."hell" was just too nasty a word for him to use). Anyhow, enjoy this bit of silliness.

I have never seen such enchanting eyes as yours
(Except when I look in the mirror)
You were not meant to stay behind closed doors
For you have the Most-Charming-Smile of the year

You're always polite, and so brave too
Only I am as brave and polite as you

Your hair is always so perfectly wavy
(It looks so natural too)
Every woman wants to be your love slave-y
And you always know the right thing to do

You're stunningly handsome, Gilderoy L.
To not see your face would be like...heck

I love you in the morning, and in the night
(And all of the times in between)
Gilderoy, you are a beautiful sight
And by all of the world should be seen
