Prologue
Why me? Tell me God, why did you choose me? Why did you make me this way? Why did you send me somewhere that it is unacceptable for me to ever be myself? Why did you put me here? Does it amuse you to see me in a place where I will not be accepted?
Twilight town – That's where I was: This little goddamn town that does not accept new people who were different than them. I was happy in Hallow Bastion, but no, you just HAD to throw me into a puzzle.
I hiccupped. I had been trying my best all night to jerk back my tears, but to no avail. I just didn't understand why it had to be me. Why, pray tell, did God, if there even was one, hate me so much?
There was a loud knock on my door, then my mother's voice, "Demyx, go to sleep. It's almost midnight. You are starting school tomorrow!" I heard her footsteps grow softer and softer, and then a door slam and I knew that she was gone.
She was correct of course. As much as I hated it, I was starting school tomorrow. Fuck my life.
