~*~

The lovers lay entwined like the spine of a tightly bound book, woven to never tear or part, but knowing that eventually they will, as all good things must eventually no longer come to be.

Their bodies move in the soft light, an act they have perfected after all this time.

This is but an act and no more, the way their hearts beat as one and words of passion are sighed, as the wave builds then comes crashing down.

They mean none of it.

Not the words nor actions.

Acting they both are; that they want this, that they love the other like they say they do, like their bodies do.

Another's soft touch is what they feel against flushed skin.

Another heart that beats with their own.

Another time, another moment they are in.

Eyes, green blue, are what they stare into and that stare back with the same passion the other feels.

Hair, long short, the only semblance is the red in which fingers dance through.

Hips move, hands ghost over smooth skin, eventually finding purchase and grasping tightly.

Each is using the other to get the closest thing to comfort they have left available.

This the only option if they want to stay sane.

Bodies shake and screams fly unrestrained, the only time they can truly let go of the strict and meticulous appearances they both have perfected and use as a wall to keep everyone at an arms length.

Eyes close in pure, peaceful bliss.

Sighs escape and whispered words so untrue float into the night, fluttering and taking root in the hearts of the two lovers.

Bitter resentment fills them as they start to think of the other and the ones who haven't lost the one thing they wanted above freedom and wining the war.

They lie side by side, legs and arms and hair twined and spread every which way.

They know that, if found out, they would be shunned and frowned upon by everyone.

They know that this is wrong, since they don't love each other.

They know that they will not do this again.

They know that, this too, is but a lie.

Authors Note: Well, I hope you enjoyed this one-shot. It's my first time dipping my toes into the water with this pairing and I think that eventually I will push off the edge of the dock and go for a full out swim. But for now, this is enough.

If you are interested in the title's name, no it is not named after the song but for the flower. Look it up and it'll make sense. I hope.

Please leave me a nice review!

Thanks,

Michaela
