Wishing Star
It was a quiet summer night, one of the last of the season. Soon, the beautiful green leaves on the trees surrounding the burrow would become various shades of red, yellow, orange and brown. A few meters from the house, stood a small tent in which Rose Weasley, clad in pajamas sat cross-legged, munching popcorn amidst many different blankets, sleeping bags, pillows and stuffed animals that she had gathered up and thrown inside.
She was staring at the lit up kitchen window, where she could see the silhouette of a boy, who was the same age as her, preparing hot chocolate. This boy, was one of her many cousins, and although she loved them all equally, she was closest with him. She was so lost in thought, that when he entered the tent –also wearing P.J.'s – she jumped so high, that she almost went through the roof of the tent.
" God, Al! You could have given me a heart attack!"
" Well, you shouldn't zone out every five minutes then." He smiled, handing her a mug of cocoa.
He sat down beside her and shoved a handful of popcorn in his mouth, then said:
" I can't believe that we'll be in fourth year two days from now."
"I know! I can't wait to see Scorp-" She stopped mid-sentence. Albus had never accepted her dating anyone, especially Scorpius Malfoy. He was the over-protective cousin, well to her anyways, all of the girls in her family had one and it was just a thing that was never spoken of, but everyone knew about.
"Could we please change the subject?" he asked, sounding a little bit agitated.
"Sure." Rose smiled.
She finished her hot chocolate and lay down, a second later, Al followed suit. She rested her head on his shoulder, and he put his arm around her.
"Albie?" she started, and grinned, but so he couldn't see. She was the only one in the world who could get away with calling him that.
"Yes, Rosie?"
"Have you ever wished on a star?" She didn't know what had brought on the question, but she suddenly felt compelled to know.
"Yes." He replied.
"What did you wish for?"
" I wished that you would stop dating 'till I'm dead." He said, without a hint of a joke in his voice.
"Haha, but seriously."
" I wished that when I got big enough to get to Hogwarts, I would get sorted into Gryffindor. Have you ever wished for anything?"
"Yes. I wished for ponies."
He turned his head and raised his eyebrows.
"What? You got to open with a joke!"
" O.K. Fine, but now you've got to say, or else I'll tickle you to death!"
" Alright, Alright! No need to turn all evil on me!" he smirked " I wished that when I grew up and was married- "
" Fine, fine! I take it back, please stop!"
"- that, no matter what, we would still be best friends" I finished.
" Aww… Rose, we'll always be best friends" he said, kissing the top of her head.
"Promise?" She asked.
" Always, 'Kay?"
" 'Kay." she yawned, but believed him; she would trust him with her life.
And the two teenagers fell asleep like that, in that tent, on that night, and many more to come, and eventually, it stopped; but no matter what, they would still be best friends. Always.
