A troubled Star

"Raven" said Starfire to a meditating Raven.

Opening one of her eyes, she said "Yeah?"

"Could I join you for meditation?"

"Sure."

Starfire floated up in the air, legs crossed. Breathing in and out, she started to chant with Raven.

"Azarth mentreon Zinthos….Azarth mentreon Zinthos…" they chanted together.

After several minutes, Raven opened an eye and spoke to Starfire, "Star?"

"Yes friend Raven?" she asked.

"What is troubling you?" she asked knowing something was wrong.

"What do you mean? I am perfectly fine." denied Starfire.

"Starfire… I feel your emotions…and they are not the happy ones you usually harbor." said Raven, "Now tell me what is bothering you?"

Sighing, Starfire shook her head, "I am confused." she said.

Cocking an eyebrow, she asked "Confused? What of?"

"Robin…He has been acting so different…" she said looking down.

"Starfire, this is Robin. I am sure he will snap out of it…" she assured, "in the meantime… you want to go to the mall?"

A smile on her face once again, she said "Sure!"

Raven smiled a small smile.

Raven didn't know what made her suggest going here but there was no backing out now.

"Oh, Raven what do you think of this?" asked Starfire holding of a very pink dress.

Giving her opinion, she said "Pink…not my style."

"What about this wonderful dress?" she asked holding a black strapless dress.

Raven shook her head.

"Then what about this one?" asked Starfire holding up a dress that was dark blue but said 'Daddy's little girl'.

"Look, Star…all those dresses are nice but…they're not my style."

Shrugging, she replaced the dresses in their proper places.

"Raven I do not like the colors of this place…." Starfire said looking around the area.

They were in Raven's favorite café, the walls were a dark color, and the poems that were read were as dark as the walls themselves. Raven sighed and turned to Starfire, "Starfire it is just a café. Nothing is bad about here." she assured her.

"You are sure?" asked Starfire.

"Positive."

"Alright." she said sitting back and enjoying the dark poetry.

A blonde blue-eyed boy stepped on the stage. He seemed to be in his teen years.

"Hello…My name is Zack…. My poem is of the pain…" he began.

Once this Zack had finished, Starfire had tears in her eyes. She applauded once she realized that this boy was done. Her clapping creased as she felt a grip on her shoulder. She turned to see Raven.

"Star, people snap not clap in cafés."

"Oh…" was her only reply.

Raven and Starfire entered the doors of Titans tower. The sounds of the game station could be heard. They walked into the common room. To Starfire's surprised, Robin was seated there and out of his room for a change. As Starfire passed the boys, Robin looked up. "Starfire?" he called.

"Robin?" she asked, getting her hopes up.

"Where have you been?" he asked.

She sighed; this was not what she had wanted him to say, "Friend Raven and I were at the mall of shopping."

"Oh what did you buy?" he asked.

"We did not end up buying anything." she explained, "We went to a store and then listened to dark poetry at that café Raven always goes to."

"Oh, Cool." he said. Starfire turned to leave. "Star, wait!" he exclaimed.

Turning around at her name, she asked "Yes?"

"Would you…." he pulled on the collar of his shirt, "Like to go to the movies with me?" he asked nervously.

She smiled wide, "I would love to go to the theater of movies with you Robin!"

He returned her smile. "Great!"

"I shall go get ready?" she said.

"Yeah… sure." he said.

Happily she sped to her room. Perhaps this day wouldn't be that bad after all.
