It was a rainy, dark night in New York City. Elliot was driving home from work, earlier that day him and his partner, Olivia had a huge fight over a case they had been working on. She ended up walking away from him and taking a taxi home instead of letting him drive her like usual. Elliot flipped on the radio and after a few commercials a song came on. He listened to the words and though about Olivia.
"It's her hair and her eyes today,

as she thoughtfully thumbs through her hair
and she purses her lips, bats her eyes as she plays,
with me sitting there slack-jawed and nothing to say

He felt sorry for the things they yelled at each other earlier and wished he could take them all back. He was almost to his studio apartment in Queens when he turned the car around.
"It's a masterful melody when she calls out my name to me
as the world spins around her she laughs, rolls her eyes
and i feel like i'm falling but it's no surprise
cause i love her with all that i am
and my voice shakes along with my hands
cause it's frightening to be swimming in this strange sea
but i'd rather be here than on land

He was coming up to her apartment, he was wishing that she was still awake since it was late and they had a very rough day. He just needing to see her.

He smiled when he noticed her lights still on. The doorman seeing Elliot's familiar face let him in. Elliot ran up the 5 flights of stairs not wanting to wait for the elevator.
He walked down the hallway, and finally knocked on her door.
She opened it, He could see the tear stains on her cheeks and felt terrible that he had made her cry.
"Im sorry." He said as he kissed her tears away.
She tilted her head and kissed him, right away he kissed her back.
"Me too. Forgive me?"
"Yeah, forgive me?"
"Yeah."
