Pepperoni is Dead
As Polly got ready for school, she looked at her "poodle" Pepperoni. "Good Morning, Peperoni!" she said. "It's time for Bring your pet to school day! And guess who I'm gonna take? That's right! You, Pepperoni!"
Pepperoni's tongue stick out and continued lying down. Polly grabbed Pepperoni and went to the kitchen to eat breakfast. Her half brother, Lance, glared at her as she entered the kitchen along with Pepperoni.
"Dude! Are you seriously taking that thing to school?" Lance asked. Polly nodded. Lance sighed and continued eating his cereal. Later at school, Polly eagerly bought a caged Pepperoni to class. As she walked in the hall to stop at her locker, Stacy and Bradley were staring at the cage.
"Uh, wow Polly. You… brought Pepperoni for Bring your pet to school day." Stacy said, squinting at the cage Pepperoni was placed in. Polly modded. "I'm going to tell the class about Pepperoni and all the fun we have together. Bradley did a facepalm at that line and said, "We'll see about that, Polly."
Ms. Mobley gave out her Bring your pet to school day speech to the class and began the presenting. Polly raised her hand up to go first, but instead she went fifth after Russell, who brought a hamster that smells just as bad as him. Polly brought Pepperoni's cage up front.
"This is Pepperoni, my dog!" She said. Ms. Mobley smiled and continued listening. As Polly kept talking, most of the class were shocked that she brought a dead dog to school. But Lance was the most of all mortified. Melody started fake coughing while other students (Like Bradley) were snickering. Stacy was trying to keep quiet and not show anything. Dill was about to open his big fat loudmouth. When Polly was finished. Ms. Mobley ordered everyone to applaud, though very few did.
"Any questions for Polly?" She asked. Dill's hand shot up in the air.
"Yes, Dill?"
"MS MOBLEY, DID YOU KNOW THAT HER DOG ISNT ALIVE? I MEAN, EVERYONE KNOWS THAT YOU KNOOOOOW!"
Ms. Mobley's smile disappeared. Polly stared at Dill, confused. "He... is?" She said.
Before anyone could stop that boy, Dill said, "NO ONE TOLD YOU? IT'S OBVIOUS HE'S DEAD!"
Polly's eyes opened wide. But Dill wasn't done talking his mouth off. Tears started to come out of Polly's eyes.
"SHUT UP, DILL!" Polly screamed. "PEPPERONI ISNT DEAD!"
As Dill kept talking (yelling actually) some kids kept telling him to shut up.
"Stop it, Dill!" Stacy yelled.
"Your screwing up right now!" Bradley shouted.
"CHILL OUT, DUDE!" Lance screamed
"Wut?" Russell asked.
"Oh man, Dill." Melody sighed.
As commotion rumbled in the classroom, Principal Coffin entered the room and shouted, "ENOUGH!" After that the room was silent.
Dill shut his mouth when Principal Coffin entered. Polly just stood there, tears streaming down her eyes.
"What is going on here?" Principal Coffin asked sternly. "All of you are disturbing the other classes!"
Principal Coffin looked at Polly. Then he looked at Dill. Then he sighed and said, "Polly and Dill, come with me to my office. NOW."
Polly slowly walked outside. Dill stood up and "silently" walked out as well.
Meanwhile at Ms. Mobley's classroom, The class was entirely silent. Everyone just stared at Pepperoni's cage.
Stacy sighed and said, "Ya know, I feel pretty bad for Polly. We should have told her in the first place."
"But anytime we try to, she denies it!" Bradley exclaimed.
"I feel like we should apologize." Melody said. "Even you, Lance."
Lance rolled his eyes. "Whatever, dude."
Moments later, Polly and Dill returned. Polly looked much better, but Dill looked a little upset.
"Polly, are you ok?" Ms. Mobley asked.
"Yes," Polly replied. "Principal Coffin said that it was ok, since I didn't know he was dead this whole time. Why didn't you guys tell me?"
Stacy was about to snap when Bradley covered her mouth and said, "Well you see, anytime we tried to, you would say he isn't. We didn't want to make you upset. Sorry, Polly."
"Sorry, Polly." Melody said.
"Sorry dude." Lance said.
"Yeah, sorry." Russell said
"Sorry, Polly." Stacy said.
Polly looked at Dill.
"SORRY, POLLY! I DIDNT MEAN TO!" Dill said (loudly, of course)
Polly smiled as she took Pepperoni's cage back to the side of the desk.
"Oh yeah, what should I do with Pepperoni?" Polly asked.
"Uhhh..."
Ms. Mobley chimed in. "Maybe you should bury him?"
Polly agreed. "Yeah! I'll do it after school!"
After school, Stacy's wiener dog, Frank, was digging a hole for pepperoni. Bradley took a rock and was writing the words HERE LIES PEPPERONI (1990-1996)
After everything was ready, Lance, Melody, Russell and Dill came over at Polly and Lance's front yard for Pepperoni's "funeral".
Polly stood in front of Pepperoni's grave and said, "I'm going to miss you, boy. We had a lot of fun together, even though you were dead the whole time. You were great to me, Pepperoni."
The End!
