Cody The Pikachu: Hey there, everyone, and welcome back to another SpongeBob alternate ending. This time, I've decided to go for...an episode neither you nor I might care much about. It's A Breath Of Fresh Squidward.
It starts with SpongeBob and Patrick annoying Squidward, so the latter get an electric fence and accidentally touches it. Then he turns nice and accidentally annoys SpongeBob and gets to be the Employee of the Month, so there's this cool party at Patrick's place. But then SpongeBob acts like a brat and kicks Squidward out of his own party in someone else's home...and no one calls him out on it!
But I want to change that. And here, Patrick's gonna be a bit smarter than he usually is, so bear with me on this. So sit back and watch the magic do its work.
Disclaimer: SpongeBob SquarePants will never belong to me. The show belongs to Stephen Hillenberg and Nickelodeon.
Publishing Date: February 28, 2015
Enjoy!

A Breath Of Fresh Squidward
"Enjoying the party, SpongeBob?" Squidward Tentacles called gleefully as he partied in a conga line. "How's the cake, SpongeBob?"
"It's okay, Squidward," SpongeBob SquarePants said with a sniffle. "It's a very okay cake."
Squidward cheered on, "I love being Employee of the Month!"
It had been hours since Squidward was named Employee of the Month...and a full day and a half ever since his personality changed from that electric fence. SpongeBob felt like his life was being ruined by Squidward's new personality. At first, he had liked having Squidward behave like him, but lately, he had gotten on his nerves. He had done things SpongeBob had been doing like getting to be Employee Of The Month awards and cooking perfect Krabby Patties. Now he wondered if this was what Squidward felt like whenever he worked at the Krusty Krab.
But then again, SpongeBob recalled the time when he and Squidward competed with each other for Employee of the Month. Squidward hadn't liked it back then but then took the challenge when SpongeBob himself got competitive. The stress that came with it, though, wasn't worth it; it had ended with the Krusty Krab being wrecked. Besides, who was he to be jealous just for one amazing thing Squidward did today?
Thus, SpongeBob sighed and muttered, "Oh, so what if Squidward is a better cook than you? Doesn't matter. And so what if Squidward replaced you as Employee of the Month? And so what if Squidward is pogo-dancing with your best friend?" But at the thought of that, he perked up and exclaimed, "Pogo-dancing with your best friend?!"
And indeed, there were Squidward and Patrick Star (SpongeBob's best friend) bouncing on pogo sticks and laughing. That was when SpongeBob was feeling all the patience he felt towards Squidward start depleting fast, but he didn't care. It wasn't fair! No one should dance with Patrick but him! So he bellowed "STOP!", and the party stopped as he marched up to Squidward with an angry face.
"Maybe you can take my job, and MAYBE you can take my place on the Employee of the Month Wall of Fame!" he snarled, getting into a cringing Squidward's face. "But nobody, and I mean NOBODY, pogo-dances with that guy but ME! Now do yourself a big fat favor and get out, bub!"
"SpongeBob!"
But Squidward had started crying and left the party, and SpongeBob turned around from...wherever the front door was at. Everyone was glaring disapprovingly at him, especially Patrick; his best friend was looking madder than he had seen him in a while.
"This party was for Squidward! You had no right kicking him out of there and out of MY house!" Patrick continued scolding, storming over to him. "Why do you have to be such a meanie to him today?!"
"Because he stole my award!" SpongeBob replied, trying to sound tough...if it weren't for uneasiness to settle in his mind.
Patrick growled, "I told you to get over yourself! You win some, you lose some!"
SpongeBob merely wailed, "But I've always BEEN employee of the month! Why does Squidward have to get it? I wanted it! I deserved it!"
"That's it! You're out of this party!" Patrick snapped, pushing SpongeBob towards the front door. "Not everything's about you, you know, but tonight just proved of how you've been acting today! Right now, you're being a spoiled brat, and you deserve to not be Employee of the Month! And until you get Squidward back into the party, you're no longer welcome in my house!"
And with that, he pushed SpongeBob out into the night and slammed his rock shut.
Once he was out in the dark and the cold, SpongeBob began thinking things over. Perhaps Patrick was right about him being a brat; had he been acting like a jerk? And was this how Squidward always felt when SpongeBob and Patrick bothered him? He recalled what happened the morning before, when he and Patrick entered Squidward's house without asking, and he felt worse.
So SpongeBob looked over where Squidward had gone home and checked the fence. Fortunately, it seemed that Squidward had turned the electric fence off, so SpongeBob opened the gate and got through with ease. Then he walked up to the front door and knocked on it, waiting for a minute or two until his neighbor finally came over and opened the door.
"SpongeBob?" Squidward asked, sounding as if he was tired and waking up. Then he snapped, "What are you doing at my house? I thought I told you many times before not to come here!"
Perhaps Squidward had gone back to his usual self? SpongeBob said, "Um...Squidward? Can I come inside? So we can talk?"
Squidward shook his head. "No," he growled, starting to close the door. "Now get outta here."
"Not until I apologize," SpongeBob insisted while he held the door open.
"Apologize?" Squidward now looked confused as he stopped struggling. "What for?"
"Squidward...I'm really REALLY sorry I yelled at you back there," SpongeBob said, laying a hand on Squidward's arm. "Patrick was right; I was being a spoiled brat. I mean, you got to be a better fry cook than me...but I had no right to be mad at you about it and throw you out of that party. I should've been happier for you being Employee of the Month."
Now Squidward's eyes widened with shock. "I was Employee of the Month? When?"
SpongeBob replied, "This afternoon. Why, don't you remember?"
"No," Squidward said. "I just remember getting electrocuted when I tried going back into my house. And this was all after I wanted you and Patrick out of my yard. But after that, nothing."
"Oh." Then SpongeBob confessed, "Squidward, I'm sorry Patrick and I go into your house every morning. I don't know why it was a good idea when we could've watched the sun rise from our own houses. If we hadn't done that, you wouldn't have been electrocuted. I feel like an idiot."
Squidward nodded awkwardly. "Yeah, I guess you can be an idiot."
SpongeBob merely chuckled a bit. "At least you're honest with me when you tell me that," he said, perking up. "But you know what? You really were quite a natural at making Krabby Patties."
"But I only did that because I wasn't myself," Squidward protested.
"I know, but if you want, I can teach you how," SpongeBob said. "Anytime you're in the mood for it, that is."
His neighbor looked briefly to the side for a moment. Finally, he said with a hint of a smile, "Okay, deal. But after that, don't bother me for the rest of the week."
SpongeBob smiled. "You got a deal, Squiddy. Now let's get back to the party. I have some explaining to do...and Patrick does too."
The End
...
Warrior Cat Cody: Wow. This is probably the shortest one-shot I've ever done. But I'm happy with it, and I hope you all enjoyed it. If there's anything wrong with this story, let me know, and I'll fix it. As long as you're polite about it, by the way.
I might end up making a FanFic of one-shots, one-shots that tell alternate endings to bad SpongeBob episodes. Heck, I'll even put up a poll on which alternate ending I should do next. There's a big bucketful of choices out there since there are only a few good SpongeBob episodes in the post-movie era. As for how SpongeBob is currently, I'll have to check the second movie sometime; I heard it was really good, but I'd like to see it for myself.
See ya next time!
