Okay, this is not my normal type of post. I've had lots of trouble with this darn writer's block that I can't seem to get rid of, so I decided to try my hand at a little poetry to try to get the gears turning...

"Love is patient, love is kind. It is not jealous, (love) is not pompous, it is not inflated,
It is not rude, it does not seek its own interests, it is not quick-tempered, it does not brood over injury,
It does not rejoice over wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth.
It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Love never fails." (1 Corinthians 13:3-8)
Where was this love that I sought?
It seemed to be eluding me,
For neither its graces nor its blessings,
Had my heart received.
It hid from me for many years,
Until I met her, my angel,
A fire in my heart she did ignite,
And Tori Vega was her name.
She was the only one who was always patient with my ways,
She was always kind when she spoke,
She was never jealous of anything I possessed,
And she was never arrogant in my path.
Her affections were not fake, her actions were not rude,
For she never degraded my body nor my mind,
And all that we did, we did together,
And she was never quick to judge or to blame.
She mourned when I was hurt,
And cried when I did wrong,
But she rejoiced when I was true,
For virtue did she seek.
She always aided me in hardship,
And believed me in times of doubt,
And prayed with me in times of hope,
Keeping strong against all that was in the way.
Just as she did all this for me, I did the same,
For love requires partnership and cooperation,
And by working together and sharing our fears and doubts,
Our love never failed.
Now, I have that one person with whom I can cry,
Now, I have one in whom I can fully trust,
And in her can I seek comfort in my deepest fears,
And all my worries and all my failures.
She always consoles these longing thoughts,
And with her kiss, washes them away,
And brings light back into my day,
Never again to fade away.
So, I guess what Paul wrote down is true,
For I see the living picture of his writing,
In the soul of this girl sleeping in my arms,
To whom I give my beating heart.
