Rhythm of the Night
Disclaimer: I do not own any of the canon characters; they belong to Walt Disney Studios and any other respective owners. Based on the drabble prompt: "Dance with me!"
Word Count: 216
As the Mardi Gras parade continues down the street, Prince Naveen watches the procession with the innocent gaze of a child.
"Achidanza!" Naveen gasps as the largest float of the evening passes by with Mr. La Bouff standing on the top, waving energetically to the crowd. "Tiana, I am amazed by all this wonderful color! I do not believe I have seen such happiness since our wedding!" he grins, taking a sample of his wife's beignets off the silver tray.
"I'm glad you're enjoyin' yourself so much, Naveen," Tiana smiles at her excitable husband. "Mardi Gras really is one of the best nights of the year in New Orleans," she agrees, laughing as Charlotte works her way over from the other side of the crowd.
"Why, Tia, honey, don't you just look like the bee's knees!" she compliments, squeezing her friend in a tight hug. "Naveen, you look marvelous, darlin'!" Lottie continues.
"Thank you. Tiana, my darling, you must dance with me!" Naveen shouts as the jazz band comes closer.
"Naveen, we've been through this! I've got two left feet!" Tiana reminds, a wary look on her face.
"I will teach you. Come! Dance with me!" he pleads, pulling his wife into his arms. "I shall not mind if you step on my toes."
Author's Note: And there it is! This is my first entry into the fandom for The Princess and the Frog, although I had intended months ago for my first piece to be a much longer one-shot reflecting on young Tiana's perspective of her father's death. That will eventually be a story I post. But, for now, I published this drabble as a part of the March Drabble Challenge I found on Tumblr somewhere. Anyway, I wanted this to be published tomorrow because it is actually Mardi Gras, but I have something extremely special planned for my 100th story and my 5th day of the first drabble challenge I have undertaken. Reviews, as always, are greatly appreciated. I hope you all enjoyed this double drabble! I hope you all have an amazing day, afternoon, or night! Until next time, dear readers!
