Chapter 1 : Introduction

At the Baywatch Lifeguards' headquarter in Malibu, there's a lot of agitation. Everyone's preparing his or herself to reorganization after a takeover by a big multinational company.

Everybody is worried. Specially a big brown and curly-haired man with deep blue eyes like the ocean.

The man's talking with two other persons, visiblyly as worried as he.

The man:" shame that LA's county is ruined."

Another man:" But dad, why don't they make us move in a less expensive place?"

The dad: "It's I who didn't want it. The headquarters have alwaus been there and, as long as I'll be breathing, it'll stay here."

A woman:"Mitch, how stubborn you can be!"

Mitch "Caroline, didn't you say it's what makes my charm? Or was it your sister?"

Caroline: "It should have been Stef. But you really are too stubborn. You should have agreed to move the HQ."

Mitch, visibly annoyed: "No way! Are you crazy?! The ones who have been here as long as I, even some longer than I, would never have agreed with it because it holds to much memories. It would be criminal to move out."

The son: "When would you get to see the buyer?"

Mitch, looking at his Watch: "He shouldn't be too long. Come on, it'll be alright. I asked Gardner to investigate a little about Jonathan Hart Industries et there's no corpse in the closet. He made a fortune in electronics and diversified afterwards."

Caroline: "So, why coming to help us? We wouldn't bring him anything."

Mitch: "I've been told he and his wife are philanthropists. She works on wildlife and environment conservation and is a very reputable journalist. He helps mainly an orphanage in San Francisco, where he lived in."

The son: "It's Gardner who found out all of this?"

Mitch: "I've done some research on the Internet too, Hobbie. But the investigation on the company was Gardner's."

Hobbie: "I see…Tell me, wouldn't he be late?"

At this precise moment, the door opens and let 2 shadows come in, who make their descent down the stairs. Once the couple is on the landing, everybody is silent. Mitch goes towards them, letting his son and Caroline alone. Once downstairs, the couple gets closer to Mitch.

Mitch: "hello, I'm the Lieutenant Mitch Buchannon. (Turning to the man) you must be Jonathan Hart. (Then to the lady) and Mrs. Hart, I presume?"

Jonathan, giving him a handshake: "that's right. Call us Jonathan and Jennifer."

Mitch, to Jonathan: "Ok. If you'd follow me into my office. I'll make you the tour and introduce you to our team."

Jennifer, looking at Jonathan: "we're right behind you."

Mitch: "It's over there." (He shows them an office at the end of the hall, overlooking the ocean)
