... I am so freaking sorry.

I do not own Batman.

I scoffed as Damian considered the bridge.

"It appears to be stable enough to hold us both," he eventually stated, though the demon did not sound at all confident in this analysis.

"Well, Dick and Jason ran ahead of us, and if it was enough to hold them..." Admittedly, I wasn't so sure about the thing either.

"Why Father had us go on this blasted nature hike to begin with, I'll never understand..." Damian groaned out, glaring at the bridge.

"He said something about 'brotherly bonding'. I... kind of assumed it was Dick's idea..."

"Tt. Only Grayson could convince Father to agree to something so idiotic..."

"-and then run off with Jason, abandoning us..." I finished the sentence, irritation lacing my voice.

Eventually, Damian heaved out a huff of anger and annoyance, and hesitantly placed a foot on the bridge.

We both grimaced as it immediately started rocking.

"How exactly did Grayson and Todd pass this?" the kid squeaked out, his eyes uncharacteristically wide and looking, for once, his own age.

"... In all honesty, I have no idea."

Gulping, Damian lifted his other foot, and slowly landed it next to its pair, his entire weight now on the bridge. He breathed in what I assume was relief as the structure stayed, for the most part, still. He turned his head to me, and spoke in his usual insufferably superior tone.

"Those idiots will somehow manage to make the pile of rubble we're supposed to be seeing in even worse condition if someone doesn't arrive to watch them. I'm moving forward, you may come with me if you must, Drake."

He took another step on the bridge, but froze when there was a heavy shutter. A moment later, he dashed back to my side.

"... Do you happen to have a grappling hook with you, Drake?"

I was already pulling the rope out.

"You read my mind, Demon."
