"ONE, TWO, THREE, FOUR, FIVE, SIX, SEVEN…." At seven, George Eacker realized that Philip Hamilton, the man who had challenged him to a duel, had his pistol aimed at the sky. Time seemed to stop. As George began to contemplate what to do, he remembered his father saying that any honorable man would follow suit an aim his pistol at the sky. However, his father told him this way before George's first duel when he shot his adversary before seven. George thought back on that first duel and remembered the pain after the duel. George then aimed his pistol at the sky and on the number 10 both men fired their pistol's at the sky. George and Philip then shook hands, and both were rowed back across the Hudson. Philip walked home to his parents house and went straight up to his father's office. He was recounting the events of that mornings duel when his mother, Eliza rushed in.

"Philip where have you been? You've had me worried sick morning, and your father would not tell me where you went!"

"Mother, don't worry, all that matters is that I'm safe now."

"Philip please don't tell me you were having a duel with that George Eacker you will speaking to the other day."

"Ummmmm…." said Philip.

"Philip you could have been killed! What were you thinking! Oh but you're alive now. Wait did you father know about this? Alexander…." She said turning to her husband.

"Yes but I knew he would be alright." Alexander said quietly.

"ALEXANDER! You should have stopped him!" As Philip's parents continued to argue, Philip snuck out of the room. He walked out the front door and started taking the well known path to his best friend John Mackenna's.
