This is the Nut Job fan fiction. Hello people! Being a huge fan of Japanese entertainment it is exceedingly rare for me to write a fan fiction for anything that is not but… I have more of a soft spot for animated things. And, I just watched the movie again after a long while and I realized that it's my favorite animated thing ever right besides How to Train Your Dragon. Being a HUUUUGE lover of bro friendship/brotherly love I could not help but love the mush between Surly and Buddy and that's how this fan fiction was born. Without further ado…
After the heck storm they had just endured, Surly believed they deserved to just relax in the sun. With his hands behind his head, lying in the lush greenery, he let out a sigh of relief.
"This is the life, isn't it, Buddy?" He spoke to his companion. The kind-hearted rat beside him avidly nodded his head in affirmation. However, a pang of guilt resided in the squirrel's heart. I really was a jerk to him, I should apologize. Ugh, I hate to ruin the mood though. "Hey, Buddy?"
His best friend turned his head towards him in full attentiveness which made Surly hesitate for a moment while he gained the right words to say. Surly was never good with this mushy crap… or apologizing. "Sorry for what I said to you back there. It was just… you know, no one believed me about Raccoon…" He muttered.
Buddy shook his head and his eyes were filled with understanding. Don't worry, I understand. What's done is done.
Surly let out a sigh of relief as the guilt dissipated. It felt much better to have that off his chest. Now he could truly enjoy the day, sun on his face, lying here next to his best friend. He smiled thinking, I'm lucky to have a friend like him.
