Disclaimer: Bah, you know this by now, and I crave a rare thing called Sleep.

"They"

by Rain

You know what They say.

"No two people are perfect for each other."

But You, I'm sure, also know, that for each and every "what They say" there is that One Exception.

That One Exception that defies all that makes sense and all that People try to cling to in the desperation that comes with trying not to fall.

In many cases, trying not to fall into another.

And so, We see this with Those Two.

They defy all other Rules and Laws, and oftentimes, even the Laws of Chemistry, Physics, and just plain Common Sense.

Why stop at this one?

Perhaps it is because the Others fit into that Rule, that They can't see underneath all the blurred lines and empty words.

Because We are tailored to believe in that Rule, We can't see that One Exception.

That's all right, though. That way, Those Two can forget about all of Us and just let Themselves fall all the better for it.

In the end, that's not so bad, now is it?

Just a random bit of goodness that came in that mid-morning time span between sleep and coherence.

The regular flame/review pleas apply.

Inspired by the following passage:

"No. What really keeps us apart is her. Akane. Not that I begrudge her--far from it. She really is a kind, sweet girl. She's beautiful, intelligent, caring. Sure, she might have a bit of a temper--kind of like someone else I know--and she does leap to conclusions a little too quickly. And yes, Ranma does insult her all the time. It really infuriates me the way he will open his mouth without thinking sometimes. But still...when they're together, and calm (which really happens more often than one would think) there's just something so special in the way that they look at each other, their words, the way their fingertips 'accidentally' brush against each other. Moments like those make me ashamed of trying to break them apart. Ranma loves Akane. And he will continue to love her for as long as I can imagine."

When I found this, it was credited "author unknown" so that's how I'm posting it. If anyone knows who wrote this, let me know. I wish to lavish them with praise. ^_~
