Oneshot #1: Room no. 236
There has been a running joke in the psychology department that if you want to stay up late, you should ask permission from Kikumaru.
During the weeks approaching the end of his last semester in college, Oishi and his thesis workmates were cramming and encoding their survey results in room 236, the room besides the computer center.
Needing help in computing figures for the thesis, they asked help from Inui, Renji and Tezuka to help them out. Sadly, the tutorial lasted longer than an hour, and by the time they were finished, it was already quarter to nine o'clock p.m. But some of Oishi's friends however, wanted to stay behind.
"Are you sure?" Renji asked them. "If you guys want to stay late and work, you need to ask Kikumaru's permission first."
The others asked who Kikumaru is, thinking that he was one of the building custodians.
"No," Inui, one of the three who helped Oishi and the others said. "Kikumaru is the boy who loves to hang-out in this very room."
Oishi looked around. "But I don't see anybody inside." He announced, shrugging his shoulders.
"Unless you have a third eye, you won't." Tezuka warned them. "The janitors said that after they clean up the room and arranged the chairs, they come back the next morning to find out that room 236 is all littered, chairs scattered all around the room."
Kikumaru's notoriety is known to two phychology instructors, who are gifted in the sixth sense. In one instance, a lively class discussion has gone past the time. Nobody seemed to want to leave until professor Ryuzaki, the teacher assigned to that class finally announced, "I think we must go now. Somebody else wants to use this room."
Her announcement puzzled the students because they knew that this is the last subject scheduled for room 236. However, they didn't argue, gathering their things and were now ready to go home. When they all reached the ground floor, it was then that professor Ryuzaki revealed "I saw Kikumaru sitting at the back of the room, and I know its best that he should not be disturbed."
From then on, professor Ryuzaki made sure her class dismissed on time. So that Kikumaru, the ghost, could have the room all to himself.
