She packed all her bags. She bought her plane ticket. She said her goodbye's. Now she's off to New York. Mikasa Ackermann was coming all the way from Osaka, Japan, to New York, America. She was going for a student exchange program. The student going in her place was someone named Mina Carolina. Mikasa was in the car with a taxi driver. She had already said goodbye to her parents when she got on the taxi. She was on her way to her flight to New York, and was on the taxi for about an hour now. She had been a packet on how to pronounce certain words in English. Mikasa is a smart girl, she really is, but she can only read English, and say 'hello' 'thank you' and 'help.'
The packet was getting too hard for her, so she took her laptop out of her backpack out of boredom.
When she opened it, it had 4 unread emails. She clicked on the first 1. It was in English, but she could read, and write in english, she just couldn't speak it.
Hi Mikasa! My name is Carla! You'll be staying with me, and my family in America. We really hope you enjoy your stay here. I have a husband named Grisha. He's a doctor so if you're ever feeling sick go to him. I also have a son named Eren. He'll be going to your school and be accompanying you during school hours. We'll be picking you up from the air port. Just look for the green for the sign that says "Misaka Ackerman" we look forward to your stay in New York!

Mikasa giggled when they spelled her named name wrong. She clicked on the next email. It was from her parents!

The other two emails were from a scammer, and her magazine subscription was running out. She rolled her eyes, and started to play this game called Shingeki no Kyojin.

She smiled. At least she knew somebody. The taxi driver made an unexpected stop, she was at the airport. The driver demanded for some yen, so she gave it to him. Mikasa grabbed all her luggage and ran into her plane. She was off.
What Mikasa's parents letter said:Dear Mikasa
This is your parents! We miss you! When you come back, you can speak English someday when you grow up. But we all wanted to tell everything you are missing, we will contact you if possible. Please send us an e-mail when all settlement is done.
