A/N: another fan fic on the Moss-Lyman romance. Had to include Leo McGarry in this fan fic. So enjoy. Don't own any of the west wing characters they all belong to Aaron Sorkin.
It was 5:30pm, it was a long day for the Santos campaign. Especially for Josh Lyman. That day he knew he hurt Donna Moss. He invited Leo over to his apartment and he said to Leo
"I messed up Leo" while making a drink
"I know you did kid, you should think about taking her into the campaign"
"I should, but I hurt the woman I love"
"The woman you what?"
Josh never thought he loved Donna. She was just his assistant. But he really cared for her. He never had feelings for anyone than he did Donna. He looked at his phone and then at Leo and said
"I love her Leo, I was an absolute jerk to her and I'm letting her walk away. I think she deserves to be apart of this campaign. I don't want her to walk away because of me"
"Josh, you have a lot of chances to apologize to her. You said you missed her terribly, you said you loved her. Just call her and tell her how you feel about her, and apologize"
"But what if she doesn't accept my apology?"
"You made some awful decisions and I of all people know how you feel about Donna. Just call her. There's one thing you shouldn't do when you are with her. When you get her, don't ever let her go. She could be the best thing that's ever happened to you kid"
"I should go over to her place and apologize. I knew she was just doing her job"
Josh ran out of his apartment while Leo left afterwards. He then ran to Donna's apartment and threw rocks at her window. She opened the window and said
"Josh please stop doing that. You're going to wake up my neighbors"
"I just want to talk to you and apologize"
"For what?"
"Being a jerk, I miss you terribly and"
"Josh I know you miss me terribly but you made me cry this morning"
"I love you Donna. I love the way you smile. I love the way you laugh. I love everything about you. I never felt that way in any of my past relationships. I should never let you go. You mean everything to me"
"Josh. Where was this all of these years ago?"
"Still trying to figure out what I wanted, you were trying to figure out you wanted. Just come outside I really want to talk about this"
Donna runs outside in the rain and sees Josh in the cold she comes up to him and says
"I love you too and I miss you terribly"
"Just think about coming on board for the Santos campaign. Just think about it. I know I hurt your feelings and that's something I should've never done. I just needed to tell you how I feel about you"
"Where is this coming from?" Donna asks
"My heart. I love you. I should've told you this all these years ago. But something just stopped me"
"I just think it's the right time for this"
Donna gets next to Josh and he pulls her in and she says
"This is the right time for everything"
Donna then kisses Josh passionately and then looks at him and says
"Don't ever let me go Josh"
"Never, I will never let you go"
Josh knew he could never let Donna go after that moment. They belonged together.
