Isaiah 6:5-8

"So I said: "Woe is me, for I am undone! Because I am a man of unclean lips, And I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; For my eyes have seen the King, The Lord of hosts." Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a live coal which he had taken with the tongs from the altar. And he touched my mouth with it, and said: "Behold, this has touched your lips; Your iniquity is taken away, And your sin purged." Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: "Whom shall I send, And who will go for Us?" Then I said, "Here am I! Send me.""

A burning coal

Upon my mouth…

Cleanse me

Wake within me passionate flames

Show me what it's like to feel joy

Peace

Love

True love

Love for those who beat me down

Who spit on my words

Who laugh at my earnestness

Who jeer at my love for You

Why do people jeer at love?

How far have we slipped

that we tear down others because they love?

It's hard to love

Hard because it hurts

Because callous words tear apart those who love

Far more than those who hate

Does Satan laugh at those who love?

Because he knows that their love

Will bring them terrible pain?

How much pain You must feel…

You died because of your love

You were beaten and spat on

Your blood flowed freely from Your torn flesh

But this physical pain cannot possibly match the pain we bring to You

I'm so sorry Daddy

Forgive me God

My Lover

My Friend

Forgive me

Amen
