I don't own HP. I just wrote this one-shot as a drabble when I got bored. No real meat, just breading.

Wishes

Hermione looked over at Draco with longing in her eyes. She had fallen in love with his pallid aristocratic features and his swirling grey eyes. He was so handsome, so sweet, everything she had ever wanted. Ron could never live up to the glory of the younger Malfoy. Her current boyfriend was shoving large balls of cheese and fried drumsticks down his throat. How attractive. The only flaw in Draco was his insecurity. She knew for a fact that Draco wasn't really a Death Eater and that his mark was painted on in crisp black, done only for show at the insistence of Lord Malfoy himself. She knew Lucius was heartless and cared entirely too much about image but she didn't think he would go so far. I wish he would notice me.

Draco sat in the Grand Hall, sneaking peaks at the righteous mudblood. He ran one hand through his hair at the sight of the beautiful brunette sipping cranberry juice while scolding the Weasel. He had never met anyone as beautiful or intelligent as Hermione Jean Granger. After meeting her in front of the Grand Hall, she had enticed him with her knowledge of the school. Granger was quite interesting and his liking for her had doubled each year. I wish she would notice me.

Harry frowned at the exchange. Malfoy had been repeatedly looking over at Hermione since they had settled and vice versa. He knew something was going on and the frustration was boiling him alive. "STOP!" he growled when he saw Malfoy sigh. Both participants looked at him as if he had lost his marbles. "MALFOY GET OVER HERE!"

Malfoy glared at him, but still rose from his seat and sauntered over to the trio. " What do you want Potter?" he said, his eyes flickering from Harry (in disgust) to Hermione (in admiration).

"I WANT YOU TWO TO QUIT STARING AT EACH OTHER!IF YOU WISH TO TALK, GO AHEAD, YOU ARE DRIVING ME CRAZY."

Both turned an odd shade of crimson after Harry's tirade. Ron froze in place, his chicken leg slamming against his oily plate as his jaw dropped. " NO! Hermione's my girl! She can't go off and talk to another bloke!" Ron screeched, his chin draped in partially chewed chicken particles.

Hermione eyed him in distaste. " Really now." Draco smiled at Hermione's expression. She had such a powerful aura as she spoke. " What is I told you that I could care less for our relationship and wish for an end."

A squeal was heard from down the table. " Oh Ronniekins!" Lavender tackled Ron smiling so wide you could see where the lining of teeth ended.

" This isn't over Mione!" Ron frowned as Lavender began pulling him away while also sprinkling his face with kisses.

" I'm hoping it is…."Draco mumbled as he went over to Hermione's side and slid his hand into hers. " Let's talk."

" Fine. Draco I…" Hermione started to stutter and Draco smiled. Absolutely adorable.

When she finished talking, he hugged her tightly. " I only have one thing to say, Mia."

Hermione smiled at the nickname.

" Wishes do come true." Then Draco leaned in and kissed her softly and continued to mumble. "Wishes do come true."
