Love Story

Faces are passing, faster and faster,

Whirling and twirling, servant and master.

The light starts to fade, the stars now come forth,

As high above all, wind flows from the north.

Maskers join the dance, lords and their ladies,

But all fade away when contact is made.

From across the room sight unseen til now,

All they can do is look and say "Wow".

Slowly they move, much closer and closer,

All else starts to fade, the dancers and maskers.

They look into each other's eyes, adoring.

Who would have thought, they'd be a love story?

Together and Apart

Departing from each other, love must wait.

Parting from true love, for how long, unsure.

Sorrow in tearful eyes, not dry for long,

Tears will not cease for a long time to come.

Longing for each other, longing, needing

As a flower for the sweet warm sunshine.

Love for each other, forbiddne but true,

Being together is better than home.

When brought together once more, love renews.

Hope fills each heart and cleanses any pain.

The world rights itself, the heavens are new,

No more, the overwhelming need to roam.

Growing Up

How young we used to be, young and naïve,

Believing that life is simple and sweet.

Our parents were all-knowing and perfect.

Our lives were governed by rules and this feud.

How far have we come? How will this finish?

So many questions, not enough answers,

Growing up is so bittersweet and hard.

I would not give it up, for I have you.

I know this is difficult, my dearest love,

But how can we despair, or worse, lose hope?

We have learned how to love and live our lives,

Not even death will ever part us two.
