It is said time will make fools of us all. How it will do that varies from person to person. For me it took everything I held dear.

My possessions, my friends, even the skies themselves were snatched from my grasp by them.

They were called heartless. Drawn by the evil's in men's hearts to worlds. Consuming all like termites. Even the most beautiful of worlds can fall to them.

Not that my world was particularly pleasant. Oh no, the scars of my, our battle with a certain madman still show. Hardly anything grows, the heat in some areas is unbearable, most of it is a wasteland and monsters still roam the area in search of an easy snack.

But to quote the young man named Rai who lives here, it was all I had, ya' know.

Terra, Celes, Locke, Edgar, Sabin, Cyan, Gau, Strago, Relm, Mog, and even Umaro and Gogo, whoever those two were, I'll probably never see them again.

I'm sorry did I mislead you there, did I make you think they were dead and buried? Snatched up? Hah! It will take a lot more than the end of the world to put us down. We survived it once and we'll most likely survive it again. In fact Sabin said that exact line himself. Even Celes who free-felled onto solid ground from approximately ten thousand feet survived and was the one to unite us all afterwards.

So where are they? I do not know. My existence here is proof that there are multiple worlds, at least one of them must hold knowledge as to where my friends are.

Still, as I look at the view from the clock tower, the arrogance of Siefer, the quiet, loyal and yet surprisingly powerful Vivi, I come to the conclusion that I am well and truly stuck here in Twilight town. Without my wings, without my friends.

Still, there does appear to be ways to travel. Apparently this young wielder of a strange weapon called a key blade can travel between worlds with ease. However, he seems to like to keep his mouth shut about it when I try and ask him. What would I, a mere Struggle tournament champion, want to know about the vastness of space and that like?

Maybe I should tell him the whole truth, about how I used to be the hero making the dramatic saves. Holding everything in the balance on the flip of a coin.

I doubt he would believe me, no-one would. It seems if I want to have any chance of leaving this world I am marooned on, I had best devise another plan to access the skies.

Hmm it appears a new woman has arrived in town from a different world, dressed in all black, searching for someone she has lost. Perhaps she would understand me. Perhaps she would help me achieve an almost identical goal.

I just hope for her sake that she isn't with me when I find Edgar. With those err… assets he'll have a damn field day. If he's not having one already that is.
