The sun is shining on my face
But I can not feel the warmth of the sun
On my face any longer
It has been this way since you left me
I am deeply sorry that I did not say good-bye
You had left me all too fast
That day when you left me
We were taking a walk
A car came speeding around the corner
We never saw the car until it was too late
You pushed me out of the way
The car hit you full force
You had flown into the air and landed far away
I got up and ran to you
By the time I got to you
You had already taken your last breath
I held you in my arms until the police arrived
They made me let go of you
I told them that you needed me
They looked at each other and shook their heads
They told me that you had died and I could do nothing
I was given a tranquilizer and taken to the hospital
The doctor admitted me to the pysch ward
Later I was moved to a mental institution
That is where I was when our friends found me
They shook their heads and asked if they could do anything
I asked them if they would ask you to come visit me
When I said that to them
They all had tears running down their cheeks
Could they not see my tears at all
Finally they could not take it anymore
They started to leave when I called them back to me
I asked them not to visit me again
I do not want their pity at all
I started to ask them to tell you I was alright
They left with tears in their eyes
After I was certain they had gone
I went to my bed and laid down
I cried for a long time and the doctor became worried
He came and asked me if my friends had upset me at all
I told him no and then I asked for you
He said it was time for me to let you go
I took down your picture and stopped saying your name
It worked for awhile
Then I smelled roses and thought of you
I started to cry once more
I have been here now for twenty years
I still see that day clearly
We woke up and had breakfast
We took a walk
A car came around the corner
You had died and so did my sunshine
I still miss you so very much
