Disclaimer: I do not own Bones.
People always ask, "Why did this happen?" or "Why did it have to happen to me?"
My question always seemed to be "Why couldn't it have been me, why didn't it happen?"
Logically speaking, if I really thought about the happenings around my work place, you would think maybe, just maybe I would get just a little bit of achievement. Angela found Jack to invigorating, though I have no idea how from rolling around in bugs and dirt. Though Dr. Brennan doesn't say much, it's also obvious the feelings that pass between her and Agent Booth. Even if nothing happens between the two, they still both manage to fall into the bed with someone, while I have to sit on the sidelines. I don't see this as fair. I feel robbed of what I should have.
No, here I sit in front of a microscope fumbling over a new lead in the case that could solve a five year old murder case. Though that's an achievement in itself, I still find it odd that while the rest of my coworkers and Agent Booth are off somewhere, doing only knows what, there isn't a thing waiting for me at home.
Maybe I should get a dog…or a cat.
Either way, my life as we know it, is seriously lacking. Maybe I should ask Booth for help. He seems lucky with the ladies.
I just don't…. well what do you know; the bone looked to have been cracked by a sledge hammer. A special made type of sledge that helps certain various occupations with tougher rocks and sediments that need to be broken down.
"Zack, what have you found?" The sound of Dr. Temperance startled me.
"The murder weapon or at least one of the weapons against the victim was a specially made sledge hammer."
She placed a hand on my shoulder and I nearly jump from the contact. Why can't I have a try at her? Just one? "Very good work, Zack. Now make sure to check the other bones for any indentions just in case there was a second weapon."
"Right." She walked away, Booth coming up to meet her and they both smile at each other. Why can't I have that?
Stupid bones….
