I've been to many award shows in my life. I'm used to the camera flashes and all the yelling but there are always the little unexpected things that can throw you off guard…
Tonight is the VMA's, I'm standing on the red carpet as we speak and doing the usual stand, turn move on sequence as the cameras flash. I am a little more nervous than usual tonight, because I know that One Direction are gonna be here and truth being told, Niall and I have Skyped once or twice and it may have been slightly awkward because we were both with friends. I have heard a few times that he has a crush on me, which is very very sweet! Okay so I gotta move inside the building now to take my seat, about 4 people are ushering me in and I'm not sure where I'm going, all I can hear is 'DEMI THIS WAY, THIS WAY DEMI.'

'Alright this way boys!'- a guy yells while escorting us onto the red carpet. We're at the Video Music Awards in Los Angeles, and it's our first big appearance at an awards show! Its crazy, I am blinded by camera flashes and all of this insane yelling; 'ZAYN, ZAYN OVER HERE!' 'LIAM THIS WAY!' 'NIALL, HEY NIALL!' I'm sure I even heard 'blondie' being yelled at one point. I am actually really nervous about this, we are performing 'One Thing' because we are nominated for 'Best New Act, Best Pop Video and Most Share-Worthy Video' which is amazing! And also I know that Demi Lovato is going to be here. I feel a little embarrassed because I know that I have publicly said that she is my celebrity crush, and we did Skype but will that make it even more awkward?
