"Oliver? Oliver Wood?" a voice said from behind me. I turned and saw Katie Bell.
"Katie? Is that you?" I was shocked seeing the girl I've been in love with standing before me.
She giggled, "Oh come on Wood. I haven't changed that much have I?"
I grinned, "Well no but...anyway how are you? I haven't seen you since..." Flashbacks hit me as I recalled gruesome scenes.
"I know." I heard Katie's voice, snapping me back into reality. "It's still effecting you too am I right? The war?"
I nodded, "It was frightening. I know it's been three years since but...I can't help but be haunted by it. I mean. I saw so many die right before my eyes. I thought of those I cared about, how they're doing, what would happen if I had died? And how I wouldn't have told you that I...I mean..." I blushed, stopping myself from confessing.
"Told me what?" she asked, curious of what I was about to say.
I huffed, "Told you that I love you."
I saw Katie's expression and got worried, "Katie? Are you alright?"
"Oliver. I...I love you too. But..."
"But what?" I asked, stepping closer to her.
She shook her head, "Not here." she grabbed my hand and apparated to her flat. "Tea?"
"Yes please." I said.
"Make yourself at home." she called out. After a few minutes she came back with a tea set.
"Thank you." I took the cup of tea from her hands, "So why. Why are you so apprehensive about loving me?"
I saw her shake her head, "I'm sorry. I want to ask. Why did you fall in love with me?"
That took me by surprise, "Well. We've known each other for so many years. You've been my bet friend during our years in Hogwarts. I felt myself falling in love with you. You've smart, beautiful, an amazing Quidditch player, and I felt as though I can be myself around you. What more can I ask for?"
I saw a sad smile form on her face, "Oliver. I want to show you something no one knows about. And I want to ask if you'd still love me after what you see."
I nodded. She got up and took out her wand. After muttering a few spells I saw her smooth skin on her face scattered with scars.
"Katie." I whispered. "What happened to you?"
"During the war, I had a run in with Fenrir Greyback. He attacked me and I was marked scarred for life. I had hoped that the scars are the only thing that came from that ordeal. But I was wrong. Oliver. I'm a werewolf." Tears spilt from her eyes.
I walked up to her and comforted her to the best of my abilities.
"So..." she said, regaining her composure. "I'll ask you again. Do you love me?"
I smiled, "I love you Katie."
Her eye widened and she stepped out of my arms, "But. Oliver, I'm a monster! I-I can't let you be with me. No matter how much it pains me. Oliver there are so many better girls out there for you!"
I lunged and held her tight, "And do you think that will stop me from loving you? Katie I don't care what you are. You could be blue with antennas coming out of your head for all I care. I love you because you make me feel happy, and safe, and...ugh Katie why can't you see that I care about you?"
I felt my shirt get wet as tears fell from her eyes, "Oliver." I heard her whisper.
I kissed her face, placing my lips on every scar on her skin, making my way to her lips, "I love everything about you Katie. And nothing will change that."
I saw her smile, "I love you too Oliver."
I returned her smile and kissed her once again.
