Ever have one of those days? One where nothing went right?

It was one of those days for Renji. He had woken up late and had to rush to school. Then he'd had a disagreement with a teacher over a grade. After school, he had a fight with Ichigo.

Yea, the day was turning out just perfect. What had supposed to be a special day for him and Ichigo had turned into one of the worst days in Renji's life.

The fight with Ichigo had been over little things. Ichigo thought too much; questioned too many things. Renji, on the other hand, rathered to do things and ask questions later. This mentality often got him in trouble with Rukia, but oh well. Consequences be damned.

He could understand why Ichigo was so upset with him. He did almost get killed by that Hollow. But he hadn't and he didn't see what was wrong with moving past it. Ichigo was intent on dissecting the battle and showing Renji where he had screwed up.

Yup….this was turning into a great day. Never mind the fact that they were supposed to meet with everyone for dinner tonight. Never mind that they were announcing their now six-month-old relation ship. It was turning into one peachy keen day.

He stood outside of the Kurosaki Clinic. He looked up to see a light on in a familiar window. I should be up there he thought. The sounds of revelry filtered out to him.

"Guess Ichigo decided to hold the party anyways," he said aloud as he turned and walked back the way he came.

Two days had passed. Two days and no sight of Ichigo. Sure, it had been the weekend and Renji would see him on Monday at school, but it still hurt. He hadn't thought the argument had been that bad.

Renji didn't look forward to getting to class this morning. He didn't look forward to the stares from his friends. He had gotten used to the stares due to his tattoos, but these would be different. The argument Friday had been a real spectacle for the whole school to see.

No, he wasn't looking forward to getting to class.

"Hey, we need to talk," was all he said to Renji, but they were some of the best words after a weekend that had felt like hell.

"About what?" Renji asked. Ichigo's eyebrow quirked.

"About Friday," Ichigo replied. "What did you think we'd talk about? Wearing matching pink shirts to the next Shinigami Convention?"

This made Renji burst out laughing. "Good one, Ichigo! I didn't know you had it in you to be funny!" Renji said between fits of giggles.

"Glad you can have a laugh. I didn't come over here to put on a comedy show," Ichigo replied. "I came over to talk to you….to tell you that I missed you…."

This sobered Renji immediately. They were in the schoolyard at lunch, away from other students. Renji had wanted to be alone….hadn't wanted to see all the happy couples. It appeared that Ichigo had come looking for him.

"You missed me?"

"Yes. My weekend wasn't the same with out you around."

"Wow…I didn't think you'd would've want to see me after…" he trailed off.

Ichigo's gaze softened. "Just because we fought doesn't mean I don't care about you or that I don't want to see you. Yes, I was upset with you for your foolishness and the fact that you didn't seem fazed by nearly getting killed. But that doesn't mean that I don't love you."

"Love? You love me?" Renji couldn't believe it. He knew that he loved the orange haired shinigami. Probably had from the first time they met. Sure, they fought and argued a lot, but now that Renji looked back, it had been covering something on his part. This was the first time that Ichigo had said what was his inner most thoughts and feelings.

"Yes! Why else would I argue with you all the time? I do it because I care," Ichigo said with a smirk. "Now the question is: do you love me, Abarai Renji?"

"More than you know, Ichigo, more than you know."

"I want to hear you say it."

"I love you, Kurosaki Ichigo."
