====================

How do I express,
The hurting deep within,
All I know how to do,
Is laugh and put on a grin.

The battle diverts the memory,
The smile masks the pain,
And with each and every passing life,
I wonder what this war may gain.

I may play the jovial pilot,
But deep inside I'm torn,
You see, for every man that's killed,
Another soldier is born.

My soul is wracked with torment,
By a thousand howling cries,
The ones that each soldier screams,
Just before he dies.

There's no need for Shinigami,
This war brings plenty of death.
And the dying rises as rapidly,
As the number of every breath.

Are we truly fighting for peace,
Or is it merely a bloodthirsty war,
Of the fighting, murder, and bloodshed,
I just plain want no more.
