Author's Note: Hi everyone, my name's Emily and this is my first fanfiction I've made in ten months! So, please excuse me as I get back into the swing. Note that because this is just the prologue, it's incredibly short, and the rest of the chapters will not be like this. I was inspired for this story after rereading "New Moon" and realizing how truly…annoying Bella is. Please enjoy this little snippet of the story, and leave some ideas!

Happy Turkey Day!

The water whipped against the shore of Lake Michigan in gentle lapping noises, illuminated from the light of the full moon, shining down brightly on the loving couple. The air was crisp and harsh, as expected for the climate of Chicago, Illinois for the month of November.

"Don't go," the amber eyed man pleaded, his hand clutched hers with an urgency, his eyes boring into the woman. "You're…you're all I have left, Sophie. Please."

The woman turned her head, her brown curls fell over her shoulders as she looked away, ashamed. "Edward, I told you…I can't do it," She took one of her gentle pale hands, taking her rosary and clutching it till her knuckles turned ivory. "You're a monster, Edward. You kill to live…and I don't want you anymore."

He knew he could not argue with this statement, his statuesque body trembling in emotion. With unnecessary force, he pushed her away, averting his eyes. Her heart already aching, the woman looked deeply into his eyes, bringing her hand to touch the cool cheeks.

"Remember me, Edward. You will find love one day," her silky voice promised. "I promise."
