Bob rolled over in bed. What time was it? And did he rally want to know? With a small grunt of excursion he forced his body to sit up. With out opening his eyes he reached over to touch Helens shoulder. Only to find his hand hitting a downy filled comforter.
Helen?
Bob's eyes shot open and he all but ran from the room. On his way to the door Bob had put on his suit and mask. "Kids! Don't be alarmed. I'm going to find your mother!" He rounded the corner and bumped right in to someone.
"Well that's great," Helen said, "Could you get some milk while you're out?" Bob shook his head.
"No time honey, I have to find you." Bob went around her then stopped. His face went blank. Turning around he faced his wife and she blinked back innocently. "Do you enjoy giving me heart attacks?" Helen began to walk to the kitchen.
"You betcha." She said, and then disappeared. Bob slowly walked towards the kitchen, all his energy gone again. "But don't be too mad, it was the only way to get you up before fathers day was over."
Bob took off his mask and rubbed his eyes. "We?" he inquired. Yawning he opened his eyes.
"We." Came Helens voice only seconds before Dash and Violet shouted, "Happy Fathers Day!"
Father's day? Was that today? Judging by the new steel beam he'd say yes. "How in the world did you get those in here?" Bob walked over and picked it up. "Please say you didn't steal this from the local construction zone."
Helen placed her hand over her heart. "What is this I hear? Do you doubt us? I'm just so offended at your lack of family moral that I may have to make you breakfast. One egg or two?"
Bob gave the matter some thought as he tested the weight of the beam. "Uh, three will do thanks honey." He quickly began to leave the room.
"Three? I don't believe that was part of the deal." Bob heard a chair get pushed as he opened the back door.
"Give him a break mom." Violet said, "He's the only father I see here. Give him three eggs." There was a quick shuffle and Dash quickly chimed, "Yeah mom, have a heart."
"If Jack-Jack could talk he'd also support me!" Bob shouted from outside. He didn't hear a response but he figured it was all in his favor. And he smiled. This was the one day a year he got as much food as he wanted. And later, as he ate his three eggs Bob would thank whoever thought this one up.
