The Lady or the Persian?
In olden days, there lived a partially barbaric king. His ideas, though somewhat shaped by advisors, were mainly impossible. His world consisted of what he wanted. If he had a dream and wanted it to be reality, that it would be. This king also had an unusual view of justice. He had an arena built, not for bloodthirsty crowds to hear the screams of doomed gladiators, but to carry out "justice". He sat in a throne above the stadium and gave a signal. At the signal, the sentenced person would come out into the arena. Across the arena, underneath the king, were two identical doors. Behind one crouched the most vicious Persian in the land that could ever be raised. Behind the other was a beautiful, sexy, smiling lady. If the person chose the Persian, it would spring and devour him instantly, not even giving him a chance to fight. While the Persian enjoyed his feast, the hired mourners let loose mournful wails and the crowds sadly bent their heads. Should he choose the other door, however, the lady would step out and become his bride. It mattered not if he already had a wife. The crowd would erupt in cheers while the lucky man accepted his new bride and took her home.
This king also had a daughter that he valued more than life itself. Her name was Misty. She had inherited some of her father's barbaric nature. He wished that Misty would one day grow up and rule as he had.
Now, Misty was quite satisfied with her current lover. His name was Ash. This love affair went along nicely, undiscovered, until one fateful day they were uncovered. Ash was immediately sentenced to go to the king's arena and thrown in jail to wait for his trial.
The dreaded day arrived. Misty was there, waiting nervously. She knew behind which door crouched the Persian and which door stood the lady. It changed every time. Right now, the lady was on the right, right under where she was sitting. This lady was one of the most beautiful in the village. Her name was May and it had been said that she had an uncanny way of getting what she wanted. It had been said that they had been seen talking, but only for a brief few minutes. What could possibly be said in that time? Misty wondered to herself. She had to think of some way to save her lover. Suddenly, her father gave the signal. Ash stepped out, grim-faced. He walked across to the doors. Both were covered with a thick curtain so no sound or anything else could give away which was which. Misty was suddenly struck with an idea.
Ash was looking into her eyes now. His beautiful chocolate brown eyes were now filled with fear and love. She made a quick motion to the right and no one saw it but Ash. He nodded slightly and opened the right door. May stepped out, cheeks shining. Ash was overjoyed and scooped her into his arms.
Misty watched, sad and happy at the same time. She had saved her lover, but had lost him forever. So I leave it to you, dear reader [no hentai intended], to decide which really walked out of the door. The Lady or the Persian?
A/N-I had to read that story for English and it inspired me to do an AAMR based off it. I hope you liked it.
