A Dragon's Lullaby
Renton knew it was late by the light coming through the small porthole in his room, but couldn't help it between the nightmares and the pressure of being the Gekko States mechanic he just simply couldn't sleep. So here his was laying wake again *sigh* for what seemed like hours knowing it has only been a few minutes. It seems like the world is against him it was always like that ever since he was little life always seem to give him the short end of the stick especially in BellForest it sucked bad.
This sleeplessness had plagued him since his return to the Gekko 2 weeks ago after finally mastered his Bjiuu the Juubi no Ryuu. Eureka was starting to worry about him and had been trying to help but it was no use the long nights continued even seeing Mischa the ships doctor to look for ways to sleep again all for nothing. 'Whats wrong Kid?' Juubi asked from within the seal on Rentons back 'Can't sleep again Gaki' "pretty much Juu" Renton replied 'You know it is important to sleep for humans right?'
"I know Juubi I just don't know was wrong with me I thought it was the death of Ray and Charles-San that's bothering me but now am not so sure anymore" with a sigh Renton turned on to his side. Moonlight shined in the window casting shadows on Rentons face from within came a sigh that sounded more like a growl from the Juubi 'Maybe I could help Gaki.' "How?" 'There is a old song the Six Path Sage used to sing when sadness plagued my clan called 'Dragon's lullaby' it could calm any bjiuu even the Kyuubi at his enraged mood.' "Really?" Renton asked skeptical he knew the Juubi was only trying to help but Renton knew the Dragon had only settled drown after his taming and didn't trust him after trying to drive Renton insane.
'Gaki just trust me I mean no harm by it I just thought it could help.' Juubi Hurred softly hoping to put his host at ease feeling the distrust coming from Renton. 'Please Gaki.' With that Renton made up is mind "Fine" he grunted "But no bullshit ok?" 'Deal' With that the Juubi began to hum a soft melody from the depths of the dragons memories the song flowed like water over Rentons mind smoothing the ache of staying awake for 2 weeks now.
'I knew a man with no name loneliness followed in his wake.'
'Night after Night searching but never found.'
'He happen to pass by a cave full of gold and gems where lay the dragon'
'Lonely as the man it spoke "Here Here my friend come to rest your weary head with me my friend"
'And so the dragon and the man lay side by side in bed knowing they will never be lonely again'
Juubi Respected the song till he was sure Renton had drifted off to sleep the telltale soft sores were coming from his host knowing the sleeplessness had ended finally for Renton. From within the cage of the seal the Juubi no Ryuu smiled 'Good Night Renton.' with that the Juubi itself drifted off to follow his host to dreams.
