*before I start this, i want to say ignore the little stars on the left side; fanfiction wouldn't let me have spaces between the stanzas without them.

Wolves always seemed to follow him wherever he was to go.

The shadowy creatures never fully out of reach.

One by one the two wolves follow.

With them so close, how could he ever forget?

*

One wolf had blue eyes that reminisced the past,

The other had green that were filled with wisdom and love.

Together they had split off from their pack long ago,

Two lovers going forward together in silence.

*

The man cherished the wolves, that part was true.

They were different from the others, separate from the pack.

The wolves loved him too, and he did notice.

Yet he was too distracted to realize that fact.

*

Up in the sky, but far from the heavens,

The moon had slain the sun, stealing sharp piercing light.

It dominated then new dark, mocking the luminescence past.

It had conquered all, the stolen light slicing night.

*

He looked to the moon, whole, round, and perfect.

Comfort didn't come as he was shown its power.

Transfixed as he was, the moon had all control,

And the wolves could only stare as they wondered what best to do.

*

He had failed the wolves before, he could never forget.

The moon always there to remind of his crimes.

One wolf was pierced through by the moon's strong light,

The other struck down by its indirect beam.

*

He couldn't help the wolves then as the moon held too much power,

But the wolves fiercely fought to make a clear path.

They fought with courage, but their fear they couldn't hide,

They weren't nearly as strong as the moon in deep blue.

*

Tears threaten to come, but they will never show.

His weakness will hide in front of the wolves.

As his followers glance at him with glistening eyes,

He could never stop thinking of what he did wrong.

*

He continued searching the sky, until one special day,

His shadow-like wolves so boldly decided to help.

Ahead of him green eyes marched to show a new way,

While glowing-blue eyes would guard him through the whole way.

*

With the wolf by his side, the moon didn't seem as strong,

It's power no longer overwhelming his senses.

He could now look forward to see hopeful green eyes,

Pointing to a path he had overlooked before.

*

He walked through the moon's power, no regret, just resolve.

The supporting wolf at his side happily hopping in glee.

His path was now clear; the moon would not stop him.

The other wolf wagged her tail, waiting near the end.

*

When he got to the waiting one, the wolves reunited,

And he saw something he had all but forgotten.

The beginning rays of a new sun were on the horizon,

The warmth embracing him and welcoming him home.

*

Blue eyes attempted to stay by his side,

But reluctantly green eyes gave a reminder to both.

The wolves had their time in that sun, oh so bright

And now it was his time to bathe in the light.

*

With a nuzzle he bid his partner farewell,

The blue eyed guardian who would protect with his life.

To the other he gave a hug that encompassed his love,

In her eyes he saw the forgiveness he sought.

*

He looked to the wolves, for it was time to bid farewell.

The memories wouldn't leave, and the tears wouldn't fall.

He smiled to the wolves and if they could, they would back,

And he began forward into the sun's warm embrace.

Yes, I finally get this done. unknown to almost everybody, i actually started this like two months ago, and finally get it done. Much thanks to chibipinkbunny who really really really helped shape this up. without her, it would probably be a confusing two hundred word or so poem. So, i hope it is liked! R and R!!
