"M-m-mom?" Lex stuttered.

"Hi, sweetie," Lillian moved gracefully across the room to sit next to him on the bed. "Having trouble sleeping again?"

Lex looked in awe at her. She was wearing a lovely silk white night gown that was glowing in the moonlight. "Uh-huh mom, Dad was a real pain today…"

"Shhh…you should try and get some sleep darling…" She gently stroked through Lex's bright red hair.

"I love you mom," Lex said calmly while snuggling under the covers.

"Good-night Alexander, I'll be in the other room if you need me." She blew him a kiss and went towards the doorway.

"Wait, mom, don't leave…"

"It's okay, I lo…"

Before she could finish a loud buzzing interrupted her. Suddenly he sat straight up in his bed; the image of his mother was gone. He scowled at the alarm for running his dream. He ran his hand along his head.

Still, a twenty-two year old man, no hair, no mom. Sighing he turned toward her picture on the bed-side table and a single tear fell down his cheek.
