Hey, this is a sasusaku fan who was just having a 'what if?' moment. Hope you like it, no flames, please review.

I saw him walk towards me, this was the moment I had been waiting for, for years. I bit my lip, after all this time, that little smirk he had on his face still made my heart race. His hands were in his pockets, and he was even more handsome than I remembered. His smirk grew when he saw the anxious look on my face. He stopped in front of me

"Hello Sakura"

"H-hello Sasuke-kun" He rolled his eyes

"Still stuttering and drooling over me? You obviously haven't changed."

There was a loud thwack! As her hand went across his face, he looked shocked, and so was she.

"Let me make one thing Absolutely clear Uchiha." Her voice was icy, shocking Sasuke even more. "Karin might take your shit, but I won't. So the next time you talk to me, don't use that tone." With that she turned to walk away, but Sasuke grabbed her wrist to stop her. She turned to meet his icy glare. "What do you want?" He was shocked, the old Sakura nearly fainted every time he touched her, this one just looked... irritated.

"You think it's shit?! Do you have any idea what I've been through?!"

"Yes. I do actually" She snapped. He glared at her

"How could you possibly understand?!" He said, his eyes full of rage.

"Because. When pein destroyed the village, everyone in my family was killed. They were all in my house, waiting for news. And I can't get revenge, because unlike you, killing innocent people bothers me" She said coldly, ripping her wrist out of his grip. he was shocked into silence. "So after you give yourself an attitude check, give me a call." She snarled, walking in the opposite direction, a small smile on her face, she knew now.

She still loved him, but she didn't need him like she did before, she was strong, she knew she wasn't the misfit she had been when sasuke had left team 7, she was a strong kuniochi, a genius some called her, she was ssaid to have surpassed even lady tsunade. She didn't feel inferior to Sasuke anymore. She stopped when she heard a voice. His voice. Say

"Hey Sakura?" She turned to see him standing there with a faint blush on his pale cheeks.

"Yes?"

"...would you like to out to dinner with me tomorrow night?"

"I'd like that" She said with a soft smile. She turned and walked away, and for the first time in a long time, she was free.
