Disclaimer: I do not own any Jane Austen novels.
Anne quickly stifled her laugh that rang through the library. "Benwick! I can't believe you said that!" She broke down giggling again, "Harry Potter is a serious -" she snickered,"- matter!"
James Benwick raised an eyebrow, "Well, for such a solemn subject, you seem to be in quite good humor." He glanced around the library to make sure they weren't disturbing anyone, "Besides, no one likes Ron anyway."
Anne couldn't help but chuckle again. "Well, I like him."
James rolled his eyes, "Your opinion doesn't count." He picked up the book he had been reading before she arrived, "Did you ever read the Edgar Allen Poe short stories I sent you?"
Anne shook her head, "No, you know I'm not a fan of his, although his themes seem to be right down your alley."
Her friend pouted before replying, "Whatever. Then have you read that new series - What was it called? Differing? Dissent? Digress? Oh, yeah!- Divergent?
The trilogy?"
The young woman shook her head again, "No, I wasn't planning on it. Why? What did you think? Enough romance for you, Teddy-Bear?"
He mock glared at her, "Just because I happen to like a few Nora Roberts novels doesn't mean you can call me Teddy-Bear. And I actually found them fairly enjoyable."
"Okay, I'll read them this week. As long as you read those Shakespeare plays I prescribed." She smiled and stood up.
He stood up as well, so that they could share a quick hug before saying their goodbyes. The two best friends walked off in different directions before they both quickly turned and waved at the same time. They grinned at each other before going their separate ways, already ready to meet again next week for their (Meeting? Discussion? You really can't consider two people a "club") book club.
A/N: So, I seem to usually write sad stories for some reason, but I just have this head-canon that these two would start a book club and have lots of fun together a best friends.
