"There's Magnus!" Alec shouted and ran off without a backward glance at Isabelle or Simon. He waded through the sea of shadowhunters and downworlders, ignoring them all, his eyes only for Magnus.
"Magnus!" He said when he reached his magnificent boyfriend, who had toned down his attire for the occasion, but still had trace amounts of glitter in his hair, which was pulled back into a ponytail. "I've been looking all over for you. I wanted to know if you wanted to be my partner."
Magnus raised on eyebrow slightly. "Aren't you afraid you parents will see?" he asked mockingly, though Alec knew Magnus well enough by now to here the real concern laced in his words, but he pulled back his sleeve anyway, exposing his hand for the rune.
Alec took out his steele and took Magnus's soft hand and drew the rune gently onto it. Once he finished the rune, he looked up at Magnus. He stared into his eyes for a moment, then surprised them both as he suddenly wrapped his arms around Magnus and kissed him full on the mouth.

Magnus watched as Alec drew the rune on his hand. A small part of him wondered if this would leave a mark on his flawless skin, but only a very small part. The rest of him was thinking about this dark haired, blue eyed creature in front of him. His eyebrows were knotted in concentration as he drew on his hand. Magnus sighed slightly, then checked Alec's face to make sure he didn't notice. He didn't. He was too hard at work on the rune.
Magnus wondered why he was so attracted to this shy little shadowhunter. He was usually attracted to people more like his sister, Isabelle, but Alec had caught his attention right away. Whether it was his hair or his eyes or both (black hair and blue eyes were his favorite combination after all), or something else entirely, he didn't know. But he knew he was completely in lo-
Alec stood up straight, done with the rune. He looked up at Magnus, into his eyes and Magnus could see the want in his blue ones. He studied his eyes intently as he looked up at his, then suddenly his arms were around Magnus, his lips on his. Magnus's eyes widened and he gasped into the kiss. What was he doing? His parents were right there! But Magnus couldn't concentrate on those thoughts for long, not with Alec kissing him like this. He finally leaned into the kiss, wrapping his arms around the shadowhunter, and he could feel Alec smile into the kiss. They kissed in front of all the people in the Accords Hall, shadowhunters and downworlders alike, and didn't break for a long time. In fact, Magnus would have kept on like that forever if he could, but, alas, he was the worlock chosen to open the portal.
As he and Alec separated and Magnus looked into those beautiful blue eyes once again, he knew he loved Alec with all his being, and Alec loved him just the same.
A/N I know it's been done so many times, and a bit cheesy, but I had a sudden burst of inspiration after re-reading this part in CoG so deal with it! It's a bit shorter than my other one-shot, but quite a bit shorter than a lot of my chapters in Opposites Attract, so sorry about the shortness! R&R!
