Chapter 1

? ? ?

"Hmmm... I be needing to get some more Paling Steel..." I muttered to myself as I looked at my newest body that was in production, placing a hand on a nearby blueprint as I looked over the materials I needed to get more of. I was quite surprised the amount I took out of storage plus emptying the nearby NPC village marketplace was not enough to finish the basic body of the body I was making. Simply shrugging at this miscalculation before turning around and heading towards my storage chambers, I knew I would have more there. Stopping and looking at the various other bodies I had built these past few years of playing the game, slowly walking up to them and just looking at their stats and personally made up lore.

"It was quite fun at first with this... I mean Possessed Armour was an available race to play in this game! 'Tis but a shame of how tedious being it can be at the late-game." I comment as I walked away from what amounted to my personal wardrobe of soulless husks, chuckling at how I saw them. Listening to the echoes of my hollow metal boots as they hit stone and echoed throughout the halls of my grand forge, and home base. Running a hand along one of my stored pole arms that served only to be decoration for my large floating base, the exact opposite to my mood, of which was always sinking. God...

"Hello you deplorable golden shit." I sarcastically comment as I stood in front of one of the many mirrors I used for when I decided to play fashion star. Chuckling as I performed a variety of poses with my body and or armour depending on how you look at it.

My helmet, like most of my armour was coloured glorious and infallible gold and polished to this noble metals obnoxious perfection, gold truly was the best colour, the helmet itself was fully enclosed and looked similar to the face of a finely crafted yet detail lacking head and face, it also had a detachable jaw segment so I could toot a war horn. The main torso, like the helmet, was also crafted to look like a human body, but in this case it involved the breasts and abdomen, male variant of course, though I did have female versions... for... special occasions, it was also split into two separate parts. My shoulders were covered in large and technically un-useable if we are speaking on realistic terms pauldrons, but fuck that, everyone knows a mans worth is determined by his pauldron size and by the Flying Spaghetti Monster himself did I look fabulous in them, they also had a large section of themselves in blue, with gold being only on the edges. The actual arm armour was fully covering and mold-casted, giving it a look that rivets or welds would tarnish, of course there were still the normal joint openings for movement, my hands also had a similar design philosophy. My leg armour, like my arms and hands also abided by this rule, however they coned outwards the lower you went on them, mostly because I wanted my weight to be distributed fairly, should the game ever get a better gravity mechanic. On my back hung a dark navy blue cloak with dragon scales decorating the top half in an angular fashion, the darker blue perfectly contrasted the lighter blue on my shoulders. Finally from within my armour's gaps one could see a glowing purple spirit like entity, this was the "soul" that was bound to my armour, a nice detail on the creators part.

And with a dramatic wave of my cape and the picking up of my actual pole arm that I used for battle, I went off on my way to the storage area for my ores and ingots. Doing a few pointless jabs and swings with my weapon before I threw it across the hall, clapping my hands to activate a spell that brought it back to me. Now using it as a walking stick on my journey, looking at the night sky and using some loot box item I got to draw a little smiley face in the window. Watching with an unseen frown as I watched it disappear into nothing.

While I most certainly didn't have a life as bad as the lower classed parts of society in the dying world we lived in... I was most certainly not all fine and dandy. My dad... While he did love me, I only got on this game because he set up a deal with the company that made it so I could learn marketing skills and that in a more... retard friendly environment. Upper class school students had this... Unbelievable sense of arrogance and superiority about them, as a result I was often picked on for the fact I needed bionics to walk and the fact I was surprisingly autistic. A strange thing for my family, neither side had a history of it at all... But I enjoyed how it made me... It taught me much that a school never could.

My loneliness wasn't helped either by the generally rude and xenophobic players I met early on, while I understood they were merely venting stress... It still hurt none the less. In some twisted sense of irony, the players that chose the more monster-like speices and races were actually the nicer ones, but that was born naturally from bonds formed from dealing with the human like-players. The fact many still held on to such... Old and outdated forms of looking at things was an interesting one, but I always enjoyed making myself look weak and playing "Why can't we be friends?" when I cut them down and mugged them. Chuckling at how my early days as a smith went, kill asshole players, loot them for dakka and other goodies, sell or scrap for money and leveling, profit!

Unlocking my jaw and busting out my tooting horn as I walked with renewed joy, snickering at all the times I caused great rage from other players with trolling and admittedly dickish backstabbing. Playing a sad little tune as I came across one of the few items I had that wasn't technically made by my characters various crafting skills, it was a statue of an older me moonwalking on a bunch of highly detailed players and npc's. What made it even better was that if I touched a player on the statue, it gave me the option to send them a pre made message that showed them my great betrayal once again. However it lost its fun factor quickly as players left or completely restarted their games to get away from it, however some players remained and I occasionally pissed about with them if I was bored.

Sending one message for old times sake before I took a detour towards the room that may have possibly held one of the most broken Lair Guardians in the game, my Celestial Dragoness, Nova. Dubbed that for the collective rage she brought to the five-hundred to six-hundred and fifty strong raid assault I got not long after my underhanded way of capturing this base. Ever since that day, no guild alliance formed to go after my fortress of floating epicness, probably because providing flight capable equipment and teleporting costs were too high. A reason I was glad for my base's capabilities, it flew for starters, and I could set up deals with other guilds and have my base head to theirs so we could trade, I was pretty much the most obnoxiously helpful trader in the game. Seen as I provided the highest quality crafted gear in the entire game, much to the annoyance of many crafting guilds, but hey... Should've got this one time event base first!

Placing my armoured hand upon a grand platinum and gold plated door before applying enough pressure to open it. Stepping through the door, I now found myself in a dimly lit hallway that lead to a grand chamber lit up by a ceiling decorated in paintings that were meant to be the space above our planet, Earth. Following the trail of gently sparkling bricks as I made my way to where I kept my mightiest bastion, my dragon guardian that has not seen combat for ages... Placing my polearm next to the door I came through, while I have "lived" here for a while, this chamber always confused me due to the fact it had twelve ground doors and a ceiling one if I wanted to physically relocate my dragon.

Nova was a large beast, easily bigger than a three-storey high house and as long a decent sized bridge, I never did measure her properly, but I can if I want too, I can also adjust her size from deeper within. Her harder outer scales were a dark midnight blue, while her bottom, weaker, underbelly ones were slowly turning to white the closer to the centre you got. She was rather slender for her size and she generally lacked the blockiness of most dragon models, with her horns being smooth and lacking protrusions and other pokey bits. Her tail was decorated with a silverish coloured mace, it had a pole going up its middle, then at the top, from the compass directions of north, east, south and west came four more bars that also attached from top to bottom, and at the centre was a glowing sapphire that had a feint mist floating around it. Her wings, like the ceiling of the room she was currently sleeping in, also had decorations that looked like space, with white dots and swirls going across the thinner, lighter coloured skin of her body. She also had a saddle equipped, with thick plates on her two front legs and a large piece on her front, protecting where her... Or at least I assume, a dragons breasts to be.

"How you been old girl? Hmmm?" I asked her nonchalantly, expecting no response. Watching as her eyes opened and revealed the diamond-like iris' that filled them, affectionately but uselessly rubbing her snout as she waited for commands or enemies. Tooting my horn as I looked over her stats and lore, personality and a few other things, I never had time to design characters, so I let some other player design her, a Touchme or something stupid like that. Moving my finger up and down as I looked through her personality screen, tooting the toot with my finger moving in tune with it. Raising a metaphorical eyebrow at one thing of note, "She wishes to mate with the strongest male she can find... No exceptions to what she will go after, winky face..." I mutter as I read the noticeable part to it that had gone by me all these years.

"Of course... When you call yourself Touchme, I really should have expected something perverted or stupid to make its way in here..." I mumble without a care as I fixed up the grammar mistakes that were made by him. Shrugging because it was something to do and it was needed anyway, I mean... What if an update came and made these characters quote on quote, alive? Grammar mistakes could mess them up. So I combed her up, but decided to leave any of the major detail changes, like removing joke entries and such. And so, with a new task added, I carried on my journey through the stables.

Activating their feeding animations by handing my various lizards, dogs and gryphons old pieces of meat that have been in my inventory since day one. Chuckling at the fact they were enjoying what technically should be nothing but sludge and maggots, shivering at the thought of something so disgusting. Shaking my head before I carried on walking to the storage areas, tapping my hand against the stonework as I walked providing myself with a tune to walk to. Frowning when my hud disappeared after I blinked when I walked past a window that the sun was glaring through.

"Huh? Hmmm... Must be a glitch, nevermind then." I carelessly comment as I walked onwards without a care, not noticing the mild changes that were becoming ever more important. Pushing open the door that blocked me from entering the storage area, and waltzing into it, placing a finger to my chin as I looked for what I needed. Pointing at the pile of low level materials before I went up and tried to place them in my inventory, growing concerned when no menu popped up. But a portal of sorts for storage did appear, but once again I brushed it off as a mere glitch in the game or something again.

So I did my best to whistle a tune while I stuffed a few bags, sacks and whatnot with the weak low-level material. Now most wonder why I build things with weaker materials at first, not surprising when most people just grind the highest tiered stuff and just build it there. The reason I did it was because of a few things; it improved my crafting levels and skills, and it surprisingly worked out cheaper to upgrade from weaker to stronger materials, gold wise anyway... It proved quite helpful as well, my early shops got looted often because I had high quality constructions on display, so I reverted to lower grade and only gave better quality when an order arrived.

"AAAAAAAAAAnnnnnnddddddd dun." I say to no one as I held the bag over my shoulder and began walking back. Chuckling at the lack of a wife or girlfriend to fufill the "man is a donkey" joke, but I chuckled it off, thinking about it proved to be just as funny. Once again arriving in Nova's chamber and walking by again, "Hello Nova." I comment as I past her. However no amount of preparation could prepare me for the thing to follow.

"Hello master. Do you require some help with that?" Nova responded with a surprisingly attractive voice. Completely stopping in my tracks when what she did just registered in my head, I was quite shocked to be honest, first my hud glitches and now an N.P.C was casually speaking to me.

"I beg your pardoooonnnnnn..." I begin to question in shock as I turn around, stopping as I watched Nova approached me. Falling to my rear and dropping my stuff as I saw her approach, watching as her reaction went from calm to sort of worried when my armoured buttocks hit the stone below.

"Master! Is something wrong!?" she asked in worry as she placed her snout by me in worry, finding myself flinching backwards out of confusion and fear, Nova flinched as well, but from sadness. Watching with my unmoving face as she slowly disappeared with a saddened frown on her face, holding my hand out quickly and watching as stopped and slowly came back. Staying still as she placed her snout in my armoured hand and purred in some form of comfort, retracting my arm and standing up before placing my hand on her and stroking.

'There is... Only one possible thing that could have happened... Something that everyone who plays this game has thought since they joined... We finally got new DLC!' I thought with excitement, yet I did not know how wrong I was. Looking away from Nova and walking to pick my stuff up again before I went to the forge then my "command" centre. Swiftly turning around when my body was forced to move because of Nova sending her wet, long tongue up my metal back, if I had eyes; I would've been glaring.

"It's honestly a great shame that wasn't something more... Meaty master..." Nova said with a giggle as I watched her savour my armours taste. My non see-able glare soon turned to a look of shock, did an N.P.C in a game not rated at eighteen plus... Just make a... Sex joke?

"Hmmmmm..." I said in concern as I rapidly began circling Nova and prodding various parts of her body, if we just had an expansion to N.P.C's, I needed to sort her out now. Letting out a yelp of surprise when her tail coiled around me and brought me closer to her face.

"Master... If you want to get anywhere with that you're going to need to get yourself a dragon's body or get us both more... Compatible ones..." she whispered lustfully against my metallic head. Staying there dumbfounded as it seemed that N.P.C personality changes may have been removed or my hud being broken was still fucking me over. Forcing my way out with not much difficulty and slowly walking along Nova's scaly hide to get back down to the floor, pondering as I picked my stuff up again.

"Interesting... Hmmm... Need more information on what has happened... This is... Annoying to say the least..." I mumble to myself as I stepped through the door to the forge, unaware Nova had somehow shrank herself and was now following me. Even when I did notice her, I was too engrossed into my train of eternally confused perpetual thought.

"What are you working on master...?" Nova asked curiously as she stuck her head into the bag and got out a single bar of the materials I picked up. Staring at her for a couple of seconds whilst she chewed on it like a dogs toy, noting the fact the material did change shape from her chewing. Looking away with a roll of my intangible eyes when Nova noticed, winked and swung her rear a bit, dropping everything but my polearm and walking to my map room, my man cave, my command centre, my Google maps.

"Need to access update change log..." I muttered once again having a worried dragoness look at me before I walked away, she swiftly followed. Going through door after door, corridor after corridor, window after window, my footfalls filled these areas with sound and removed the oppressive silence, but that soon returned when I made it to the room I was after.

"Master... Please speak to me... If something is worrying you we can talk about it." Nova pleaded in concern, but they fell upon deaf ears as I tried to access the change log. Clenching my fists tightly, sparks flew as I became angry at my inability to deal with these strange glitches concerning my hud and other things. Calming down partially when I saw a large amount of soldiers and summons staring up at my base, it appeared as if there was a fight going down.

"Stay. I am going to partake in this event." I told Nova as I pulled a switch and teleported myself into my "Eyy you guys!" cannon, my obnoxious introductory machine. Firing myself into a crowd of motionless, armoured cavalry men, deciding that going and messing about in this new event that came with this... DLC... Might calm my nerves. Finding myself impressed by the fact a highly detailed destruction engine had somehow been implemented without logging me out, crawling out of the large crater of burnt flesh and dirt I made upon impact. Holding my polearm at the ready, unsure if this was a high level encounter or low level one.

.

.

.

"Fuck..." I curse as I noticed in my haste... I had forgot my flying items that would let me get back into my base. Slamming the end of the shaft of my polearm against the torso of a dead knight or something, and with a quick yank I pulled out the polearm from his still armoured portal. Saddened by the fact I couldn't play music due to my menu issues, instead I began a mixture of humming and relatively quiet singing. I would be funky as I kicked or got my ass kicked.

"In the heart of the Holy See..." I began as I slowly walked closer.

? ? ?, a few hours earlier, unknown world

"Captain! Sir! Are you sure that we should be doing this?" one of my lower ranked officers asked in concern as our detachment of soldiers went to harass the border. His speach of inquiry was out of place and so I turned my head to him and drawed my sword ever so slightly.

"Is that insubordination I hear?" I ask in agitation at the younger officer as he backed his horse away slightly at my threat. Scoffing as he began fidgeting about when he saw the finely crafted edge of my sword, something well above his pay grade as a non-noble cavalry man.

"Of course not sir! It just seems strange that we would be sent to do such an important task and be given only a few companies worth of men and horses to do it!" he quickly retorts in fear of being executed for heresy and insubordination. Putting my sword away as I took in what he said, he wasn't wrong, our force was rather small for where we were going. Quickly reassuring myself as we marched to our designated campsite in the woods, the place we would attack, raid and pillage from.

"Perhaps we are only meant to be getting into smaller fights or raiding undefended farms and villages." I answer with confidence as I knew they wouldn't send a noble as important as me on a suicide run, it would do more harm than good if that was the case. Placing a hand against my amulet and caressing the area it was in, taking in a deep breath of air as I felt how holy this area seemed to be at the moment. Looking at the small map I had available once more as we past some noticeable rock outcroppings, nodding as I saw that we were close to our destination. We were getting ever closer to a position we could cut those filthy elves down in, a rather isolated group was meant to be here, and with their defeat will come fame and glory for me.

"It doesn't change the fact it is rather suspicious as to why we are being kept in the dark concerning all of this..." I quietly mutter as I watched my men march from a rather flat boulder. Having my horse hop down after about half of my soldiers had passed me, looking up in the sky when I felt that disturbance in the wind again, with it came a silent flash of white lightning. Taking off my helmet and and using a small cloth I had on me to make sure my ears were clear and not clogged or something, because I am sure lightning is always followed by a noise, yet none came. Adjusting my sitting position before I goaded my horse into picking up its pace, quickly arriving at the head of my small army.

"MY LORD! MY LORD! MY LORD!" a lightly armoured horse rider shouted as he galloped ever faster towards our position, raising a fist and halting my army's advance into the region. Waiting for the man to get closer before I responded to his calls, though it must have definitely been urgent if this scout was in such a rush.

"What is it soldier!?" I asked as I placed my helmet back on, fearing the potential of hidden Elven snipers or other things. Watching as he hopped off his horse with great recklessness before he went into his horses storage bags and pulled out a large crystal.

"Here!" he simply said as he dropped to a knee and handed me the crystal, looking at it and going wide eyed at what it was, it was something I couldn't believe. It was the summoning crystal for a very powerful angel construct, holding it carefully before handing it to my second-in-command.

"Get the men to our destination, you! Take me to where you found it!" I ordered as I rode forward a few metres, waiting for the ranger to get back on his horse. Going after him when he past me, making sure to look about with a small shield at the ready just in case. Tightly gripping the reins of my horse and trying my absolute best to keep up with the faster and lighter equipped ranger. Ducking out of the way when a stray branch suddenly broke and fellto the forest floor.

"Alright we are here my lord!" the ranger said loudly as he once again got off his horse before it had sufficiently slowed down. Coming to a stop myself and looking at the gathering of rangers who were currently taking a surprisingly large trove of gold and treasure from the cave and were discussing how to move it. Hopping down and watching the rangers stiffen up at my presence, any stray thoughts of running off with the gold were stopped when I displayed a small amount of magic before them. Following the ranger who brought me here and staring in awe at the treasure inside of it.

"You brought me here to show me this?" I ask in confusion born from an uncertainty of how to act to such a meaningless yet helpful discovery. Noting the fact the guard was gesturing towards a cackling white light, and so my pride grew at what I saw. I saw a sword wreathed in white lightning that made no sound, remembering the lightning I only saw earlier, it must have been a gift from the gods! Gripping the golden hilt of the blade and pulling it out of its thick black leather and gold sheath, looking at the blade before I spoke further.

It was as I already saw, a golden hilted blade with its pommel shaped like a very simple yet elegant thundercloud and lightning bolt. It had a simple design, like one you would find on a common shortsword, yet the issue with that was it was the size of a smaller broadsword. Along its platnum coloured blade were strange runes that looked Dwarven in nature, they glowed a light opal blue. Giving the blade a few swings to test it, surprised at how the air seemed to just allow the blade to go through it, as if the air wanted it to kill, then there was how light it surprisingly was.

"I-I need to test something..." I stutter out in shock as I left the cave, grabbed my expendable shield, and placed the new sword down. Drawing my actual sword and delivering a quick overhead strike with my longsword and watching it barely dent the steel reinforced rim of my shield. Dropping my blade, I picked up the other blade while I was at the floor, and prepared to swing it. Taking a few breaths before swinging, watching in shock and awe as it effortlessly cut through the entirety of my shield before it dug partially into the dirt.

Pulling it out and putting it away before I looked at the ranger who brought me here, "What about the gold sir...?" he asked in slight greed.

Waving him off before I hopped back on to my horse, the creak and clank of plates sounded as I moved on to the equine. Looking down at the man before tossing a coin I picked up earlier, "Bring it to camp, take it home, I don't care." I told them as I rode back to where my men should have been. The gods had given me this blade for a reason, and I shall use it against those filthy knife-eared scum that inhabited rightful human lands. Looking up as stormclouds began to gather in the skies above me, growing concerned yet curious as to why the lightning was focusing on a single spot.

Practicing with my new holy sword as I rode, knowing it will take some time to get use too, but as a chosen one I knew I would succeed in my task. The gods had a great plan for me and were making me keenly aware of it with all these signs of anomalous magic and such. Soon catching sight of my men and riding quickly to them when I saw that they were getting into combat positions, gazing at them as some small groups of horsemen detached from the main force and began performing large area sweeping formations.

"My Lord! It appears we have run into a small convoy of Elves! We have horses keeping them boxed in and with your permission we can now send in the spear and pike men!" one of my officers informed me as I slowed down to a trot. Nodding at him before I gestured for him to send our longer ranged troops at the Demi-Humans, moving to a position I could read the situation clearer from. Smirking in triumph as no Elf was able to escape or flee due to our knights and horse riders sheer fanaticism and tenacity against the abominations that were them.

Drawing my new sword and deciding to let my infantry feel the heat of battle, "ALL INFANTRY! CHARGE!" I shouted with religious fervour as I charged ahead. While many would consider this a stupid move, just charging in recklessly and without caution, I believed that in this case, with the cavalry keeping them from leaving, our charge would crush them. Cleanly decapitating one of their more armoured warriors before my horse kicked an Elven maiden that was trying to escape, a sick wet crack followed as her neck snapped from the kick, a dull thud followed when she fell. Smirking triumphantly as my spear and pikemen crashed into their discord filled lines and groups, many were swallowed instantly by the charge of pointed sticks.

"Do you wish for death? Elf?" I ask a female archer dangerously after an arrow she shot at me failed to pierce my helmet, merely scratching it and moving my head by a few millimetres. Turning my horse around and watching her fall to the ground in fear before she started crying and begging for her life in Elvish. Was she serious? did she really think that after what she did her blood would stay inside of her? oh no, no, no... I was going to have fun with her.

Hopping down from my horse and roughly grabbing her by her long blonde hair before I slapped her to the ground and began brutally kicking her. Her screams and cries were pleasant music to my ears as the Elves practically capitulated and let go any attempts of survival by fighting. Poising my sword for insertion into her skull before stopping when a large flash of white lightning appeared, followed by an earth-shaking, rock cracking, tree toppling thunder crack. A sound had came?

"By the gods what is that!?" an infantryman asked in fear and shock as something suddenly burst into the sky with a monsterous boom. Instead of sunlight breaking through light cloud... We had a large floating stone... Castle? high above us, its massive frame casting us all into the dark.

It was shaped like a doorknob in a weird kind of way, it had three large marble and gold protrusions attached to a large platnum rimmed sphere which looked like the night sky on most of it. Surrounding it was this feint azure mist that gave off a very welcoming feel to it, this building felt holy, it looked holy... It was holy, a castle for the faithful, for me! However my visions of grandeur ended the moment the six rings that spun around it in different directions stopped instantly. Steeling myself as they began aligning themselves with mighty echoes of machinery, watching as six holes precisely met each other, and when the sixth came into place something shot out.

Falling to my backside and nearly getting crushed by a scared horse when a large explosion tore up the ground where some of my men were. Quickly getting back to my feet and carefully eyeing the danger as a mighty staff weapon appeared above the smoke. Slowly backing away as a large creature climbed out of the crater it created, unsure of how to act towards its very holy like... Yet hostile appearance.

"The crystal!" I say suddenly as I ran towards the place I left it and held it out. This was a trial! The gods were testing me! And this angel will allow my success against this holy golem. Frowning slightly as I heard it sing as it walked closer.

Did thou art enjoy this lovely piece of trash that I have presented you with? Hmmm?

Any suggestions of improvement?
