Poisonous
"Don't eat that!" Bilbo's panicked voice yelled and the dwarves all froze and turned to look at their burglar.
What they saw was Kili holding a dark blue berry between his fingers, mouth already opened to eat it. He had a somewhat startled look on his face as he stared at Bilbo. The hobbit on other hand was grimacing and had raised his hands in a calming gesture.
"Put down the berry", he said, voice calm and collected.
Kili frowned but did as he was told, the others were staring at the scene, puzzled by the hobbit's strange behaviour.
"It's poisonous", Bilbo said as a way of explanation and let his arms fall back down as Kili let the berry drop. When it hit the ground, Bilbo instantly snatched Kilis hands and started pouring water over them.
The rest of the company stared at the berry, incredulously, and Bofur decided to let his thoughts to be heard.
"That's a blueberry", he said slowly, causing the rest of the dwarves to nod their agreement, most of them amused more than anything.
"How you've managed to live this long, I'll never know", the hobbit sighed.
"That's a crimberry", he continued, picking the berry up with a napkin.
"See that red thing right there in the middle? That means it's a crimberry", Bilbo said sounding annoyed. Huffing to himself, he wrapped the napkin around the berry and put it in his pocket.
"Now, where did you find it? There ought to be more" Looking expectantly at Kili, the burglar ignored the rest of the dwarves who had dared to doubt him, and tapped his foot impatiently.
"There, behind that yew", Kili said, pointing over Bilbo's shoulder. Bilbo just nodded and turned around.
"There's no time for this", Thorin, who had stayed stoic and silent until now, growled out.
"Oh don't be like that, they could become useful", Bilbo said as he searched the ground for more berries.
"Become useful how excactly master Boggins?" Kili asked, still holding his wet hands in front of him.
"Hmm? Oh yes, if we were to run into other set of trolls for example, well, I'd imagine poison could become handy", Bilbo said as he picked up berries with napkins, obvious to the surprised looks the dwarves were sending him.
