Title: The Truth

Author's Note: My very first Fanfic, it is quite short as I wrote this one for an English assignment. Scored 18 and a half out of 20 for it. Lost the 1 and a half due to poor spelling. Hehe , any way! I hope you enjoy it.

_"He looked horrifying. With this freaky expression on his face; with his mouth gawked and his eyes wide open. Pieces of shrapnel all over his body, cause still puzzles forensics." Lisbon paints a graphic image of the crime scene for the rest of the team. This leaves Rigsby mesmerised, Cho with an expression close to disturbed and Van Pelt squeamish,

"Oh ugh, I mean how can someone die like that?"

"Oh, come on! He was a claustrophobic, neatfreak locked in a freezer. This case is a complete waste of time." Jane at his favourite place of ponder, lying on his brown, maroon-stained couch.

"Stop trivialising this case Jane. This man was a victim of some kind of terrorism. Don't you think it was enough that he was deployed to work in Germany Industries from his former job?" Lisbon rebuttals.

"Uh, boss, how did the wife seem?" Rigsby questions.

"She seemed quite subdued. Actually; Cho bring her in for questioning. Rigsby, check all the suspects and find out where they were Thursday evening. And Van Pelt, you check the database for any pre-existing criminal files on the suspects.", Lisbon clamours with the same authority she wears constantly and confidently.

Jane looks as if he wants to make a pre-emptive remark, but looks at Lisbon for a sign of approval, but this bares no fruit, leaving him with a disappointed look on his face. Like that of a child.

Lisbon takes notice that Jane seems disembodied lately, and approaches him when everyone has cleared out.

"Jane. I'm worried about you," she drops a 'CBI Confidential' case file on the desk. It's one of Red John's. "Now, I know I promised I wouldn't interfere, but in all earnestness, you're watching over your shoulder constantly, double, triple, locking your room in the CBI basement and snuggling Red John files. Now, as a friend and as your boss, I think you are in too deep once again." she says this with a tone and expression of consternation.

" know why I'm doing this. Don't let your fortified status and patriotism make you forget that."

Lisbon gives a nod of acknowledgement and thy sit there on his brown maroon-stained couch in silence. Lisbon beams an encouraging, infectious smile at Jane, which seemed to neutralise the uneasy atmosphere around them. This is just to remind us that he has not forgotten his deceased family and his solemn, posthumous promise of revenge.

A/N: So? Did you enjoy it? It was short as it was originally an idea for an English essay. Your reviews are well appreciated! And I will continue to write more stories after I see some reviews!
