Percy silently walked through the hallways of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. He, as a prefect, had to patrol every once a week. Usually it was very boring, and at those nights Percy would be lost in his own thoughts and feelings, wondering about things he would never want to worry about. Tonight, on the other hand, he already walked into a couple on their way back to the Ravenclaw tower, but he let them of, as long as they hurried. They reminded him of his girlfriend, Penelope Clearwater, and had started thinking about the fight they had that afternoon. The girl thought he spend too much time with his best friend, Oliver Wood, instead of her. He himself told her that he wasn't planning on giving his only friend up for her. He was glad Oliver didn't know about the arguing Penelope often did, because he was sure his friend would either be mad at her or try to avoid him to make sure they didn't fight about him.
It made Percy wonder what he would do if he had to choose, but he was sure he'd choose for his Scottish friend. Percy walked around another corner, wondering why he wouldn't pick his girlfriend over his friend. He knew when they got together he didn't love her desperately, and he definitely wouldn't give up everything for her.
Actually, the red head knew a lot of things he would never sacrifice for Penelope. He would never let her get in the way of his career, or his family, and definitely not his only friend and roommate. Penelope had threat him with a break up this during the fight, but he answered that maybe they should, and she quickly apologized.
Percy looked at his watch and saw that his patrol had ended 10 minutes ago and he looked up to see that he was near the Room of Requirement, on the Seventh Floor corridor. Percy turned around, making his way back to the Gryffindor tower, silently praying Oliver was still up, because he really wanted someone to take his mind of his girlfriend and their silly fight.
Percy gave the Fat Lady the password and hurried his way up the stairs to the boys dormitories. Making his way into his and Oliver's room, he suddenly felt how completely exhausted he was from the long patrol he just did. Sitting down on his bed, he glanced over at Oliver's bed. The curtains around the Scottish man's bed were closed. Percy listened closely, softly hearing his friend snore in his sleep.
Disappointed he started undressing not seeing nor hearing Oliver stopped snoring en peered through the gapes in the closed curtains with sleepy eyes. A soft smile appeared at the Scottish man's lips while closed his eyes and got back to sleep, the picture of an undressing Percy still fresh in his mind.
