Dark Desires
Don't own Buffy The Vampire Slayer.
Chapter One
"Willow, I need you to research this midnighty thingy." Buffy said, walking into the kitchen. Willow nodded, setting down her glass.
"Sure, but I have to pick up my cousin first. My aunt's having a bit of trouble with her." The wiccan said, smiling slightly at the thought.
"Ok, just don't be to long." Willow nodded, standing and leaving the room.
When Buffy got home from work, it wasn't what she wanted to find.
The moment she opened the door, she was met with shocking amber eyes and short red hair streaked with thick, deep orange.
"Fenix, no." Willow's called from the couch, the small girl just grinned, dropping from the air and walking over the Willow, picking up a forgotten book on the way.
"This your cousin?" Buffy asked, staring at the child. Fenix was no older than eleven, her body concealed by a baggy black shirt with the words 'Whatever' in bold white, and a pair of baggy camo pants that were a couple sizes to big.
"The name's Fenix Rosenberg."
"Buffy, your patrolling tonight, right?" Dawn asked, taking her attention from her book.
"Yeah, I figured I'd take Spike, he's been acting like a caged animal lately." Buffy said, frowning.
"Yeah, espeacily now." Willow said, coming into the conversation, sending a worried glance towards her cousin, the vampire and Andrew. Fenix had roped them (surprisingly) into a game of poker, and Spike looked about ready to smack Andrew for his smart remarks on their playing. In which case he already had a black eye and a bleeding lip and nose from Fenix.
"Your cousin needs anger management." Dawn said blankly, watching as the small pre-teen smaked Andrew again.
"She has it, it's just that it's not working. She fakes her progress and gets out of it easily. It was a sentance for turning the school gym into a battle ground. The Juvi. court said something about 'defiling school and privite property, inguring ten innocents and sending twelve teachers to the loony bin'. Apearently she doesn't like school much." Willow said, catching Dawn and Buffy's curiousity quiet easily. "She's also a full fledged witch."
"That explains the floating." Buffy said. Dawn nodded.
"Can I come?" Fenix's voice echoed like nails on a chalk board for Buffy, while in reality it was an 'innocent' question.
"Buffy, is it alright?" Willow asked, looking down at her cousin. Buffy frowned.
"No, she stays here." Buffy growled, leaving the house and pulling Spike along, Fenix frowned.
"So, she basicly turned into a humaniod casper?" Dawn asked, watching Fenix try to hold back her laughter. Willow was praticly the same color as her hair.
"Bet Spike loved seeing that, huh, Will?" Fenix asked, grinning widely as she watched her cousin turn a dark maroon.
Ah, comeon, you know he remembers that.
Willow sent a silent glare towards Fenix.
I..... Arg! You know you're not suppose to use this power!
Teachers really didn't seem to mind, but then again, they no longer have a mind, do they?
Willow stood up, forcing a smile.
"Hot chocolate's good. I'll get hot chocolate. With little color marshmillows with bugs and daffy heads!" Willow continued to ramble as she dissappeared into the kitchen.
"She still does that? I woulda thought that oddness would have left by now." Fenix said, sighing.
