Livy hated fancy banquet parties. She always did and she swore that that fact would never change.

It was five minutes before the ball would come down on New Years.

Livy was wearing a yellow dress with her hair in a single braid. The seven year old girl was on the balcony because it was vacant and she couldn't stand listening to the wealth of Gotham brag and talk about things that she didn't care about.

It was chilly on the balcony outside, but she didn't mind it much. She had been through worse.

"Why are you so anti-social, Livy?" the girl looked up at Damian, who was wearing a black suit that made the ten year old look older.

"I'm not anti-social. I just don't like talking to the people out there." Livy answered and Damian walked over next to her.

"Well, what are you doing out here? Mindlessly gazing at the stars?" he questioned, and Livy shrugged.

"Yeah. They're pretty." She answered with a small smile. The seven year old shivered slightly, but this didn't go unnoticed to Damian.

"If you're cold, you should go inside." He stated, and Livy shook her head.

"No, I'm fine." she answered with a smile, but Damian noted how she shivered again. The boy rolled his eyes and took off his suit jacket and placed it on Livy's shoulder.

"Thanks Damian." She smiled.

"Tt. It was stupid of you to not bring a jacket here." He sneered. Livy brushed off the insult.

"What time is it?" she questioned. Damian looked at his watch.

"11:58." He informed.

"Well, why aren't you out there talking to the other rich people?" Livy inquired. "It's almost midnight."

"Because I would like to avoid all of the crazy drunk women who have been attacking me trying to pinch my cheeks and kiss me. They do the same with Grayson, but he seems to enjoy it." Damian grunted. Livy nodded her head, but Damian couldn't help but notice how gloomy the girl was acting.

"What is the matter?" Livy sighed.

"When I lived with my mommy, Drunk people used to run all over the streets on New Years and do stuff. I just hope my mommy will be okay." She informed. Damian patted the girl's back.

"Your fake mother should be fine, Livy. She also has her boyfriend, Charlie to look after her. She will be alright." Damian informed, and Livy smiled.

Damian couldn't help but grin when he saw Livy smile.

"Do you realize that you are much more beautiful when you smile opposed to when you mope?" Damian stated, but thought to himself, Why on Earth did I say that to her!

Livy just blushed slightly turning her face away so Damian wouldn't see her face and how red her cheeks were.

However, Damian grasped her chin, making the girl turn her face, and look into his blue eyes. This made Livy blush even more, and to Damian's confusion, he felt like he was blushing as well and a knot was in his stomach.

The two were both unsure what was going on. Damian's face was centimeters from Livy's, and they were staring at each other in uncertainty.

Behind them, inside, they could hear the crowd chanting,

"Ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one! HAPPY NEW YEAR!" there was loud cheering and laughter in the building.

Livy broke away from the stare that she and Damian were having and kissed him on the cheek.

He looked at her, confused, and she quickly informed,

"My mommy and I used to kiss each other on the cheek and hug each other when midnight struck." She informed as fast as she could. "Happy New Year." She added slowly with a smile as she hugged the boy.

Damian slowly wrapped his arms around Livy and kissed her cheek.

"Happy New Year, Livy."
